I love getting my morning smoothie here at the Michigan Ave location twice a week. I come at the same time every visit — between 7:00 and 7:05am. This morning, however, I watched the employee walk in at 7:01, and she told me a couple minutes later over the drive-thru speaker that they were not open yet. I asked if they were just opening late this morning, and she didn’t say anything for a minute and then said they weren’t. I then asked what time they would open since Google says 7:00am, and she didn’t come up with a time — only said she just got here and hadn’t set up yet. I asked again what time they’d be open since I had a few minutes and could wait. She said 7:30. It truly wouldn’t have been a big deal if she’d owned up to being late — a smoothie won’t make or break my day — but I hate being blatantly lied to about something I know to be true. I’ve been here dozens of times before (at 7:00am!) and have had a wonderful experience, but this employee needs to do better at taking accountability and time management.

I never leave bad reviews but had to say something to warn people. Do not come here! It is the worst tropical smoothie in Grand Rapids. I’ve gone a few times hoping that I’d only have one bad experience, but they are consistently horrible. The customer service is non-existent, and they constantly mess up orders. This will be the last time I ever go here after ordering a dragon fruit bowl, getting 1/4 the amount of dragon fruit base and barely any fruit. STAY AWAY!

I absolutely love tropical smoothie and if this one wasnt so close to my work I wouldn’t even go here. Every time I do come here my smoothies havr chunks of ice in it, never fully blended like it’s supposed to be. Today I had rotten bananas in my drink pieces of them coming up through my straw. I always get the chia banana boost with extra peanut butter and today there was absolutely no peanut butter in it. I’m usually not the one to complain but today just topped it off for me. As much money as I consistently spend here you would think they would take more time to make my things correctly. This is the only location I have issues with. Please for the love of God do better.

Just went through the drive thru. Was very pleased with the guy working the window. He made a few errors, but nothing that was huge. Honestly, was really nice and apologetic. My order came out quick and was great. My girlfriends, however, came out cold and disgusting looking. The cheese was not melted and it looks like a diaper. Smoothies were not blended. We waited a few extra minutes for them to prepare it and expected more in quality than what we got.

My friend and I went in at around 5:30pm on a Monday. The music was so loud it was hard to hear. We went up to the register to order and could barley hear what the worker was saying. I love music and all, but if have to say “what?” More than once I think maybe it should be turned down a few notches.

There’s never any parking because the tropical smoothie spots are ALWAYS taken even with the restaurant being empty.
Waited at drive thru for over ten minutes. No one there. Drove up to the counter the kids were incredibly rude. No one has a headset on and they were goofing off. NEVER asked if I wanted to order I said I told them I did. And the kid responded then make an order. I drive off. NOT GIVING MY MONEY TO RUDE BUSINESS. I was a regular. Not anymore

I like this place. Staff are super friendly (give them a raise), and one reason I’ll return. I like friendly people! Tried one of their smoothies for lunch, delicious, healthy and reasonably priced. Looks like they have a large variety of things to eat also. Sandwiches and salads, flat breads and quesadillas. I walk by here all the time, my first time stopping, and the drive-thru is always busy. A good sign that people are coming back. Easy to access off Michigan is a plus. Parking in the back is also easy.

Amazing store owner!! Not sure why there is even a single bad review for her because she was truly awesome when I was there the other night. I’ve been going to this location basically every week for 5 years now and have never had a bad experience! Service and quality of smoothies/bowls have always been great.
