My wife and I stopped in for a quick snack at the Carrollton Va site. The time was around 5:00 pm . We arrived at the counter, awaiting service. To my surprise, the individuals working behind the counter looked at us, but did not even acknowledge us!! We waited at least 5 minutes before someone finally came to take our order. The person taking our order was not very friendly, and did not even apologize for the delay in service. After placing my order, I thought about asking for the manager; but I was in too much pain from a herniated disc diagnosis from earlier. I just wanted to leave. This kind of service is very unacceptable; and serves to reinforce the fact that I won’t be doing business at this establishment again. I know this review will not be investigated, but the young people working behind the counter on the counter need to consider getting out of customer service. I’d be glad to speak to someone regarding this matter.

October 2025: I’ve noticed a big change in quality of the smoothies. They don’t have the same rich flavor anymore, and it’s not because they’re using less sugar. It’s just that the flavor is different. I’ve been ordering less and less lately, and I’m hoping they can fix it.

I did a mobile order for my son who wanted Tropical Smoothie. My son does not like super sweet things so when he said the smoothie was weirdly sour I knew it was unbearable. I tasted and it was incredibly sour.
I went inside and the cashier, who was very friendly and pleasant, understood my concern but had “to ask the owner”. I wasn’t asking for a refund, just to change it. The female owner said they couldn’t do anything and I responded “cool”. The male owner then came out as if there was a problem. He could’ve stayed in the back unless he was going to actually help the customer
I asked for Splenda to try to make it edible and even that didn’t work. Imagine how sour something has to be for Splenda to be ineffective!
Also, this establishment has disabled “pair and save” option so it shows as “sold out” for ALL combinations when you are doing mobile orders so you have buy separately and can’t take advantage of savings offered at other locations.

I waited for the owner to take my order while she made smoothies. When she finally approached me, she didn’t greet me or apologize for the delay. While waitingg fove minutes , an employee had informed her that I was waiting, but she had responded, ‘She can wait, I’m finishing up these smoothies.’ She was also very nasty to her employee, which was sickening to watch. The customer service was horrible. I understand trying to save money, but being nasty to employees is unacceptable. I didn’t buy a smoothie because I was disgusted by how she spoke to her employee, who looked upset and walked to the back. I don’t condone degrading others; if he’s doing a horrible job, fire him, but degrading him in front of people was despicable.

I removed sugar from my beverage and apparently the money saved by the establishment was not enough to warrant replacing it with coconut, so I was charged $1.29 per smoothie to add those things. I was certainly not offered any discount for removal of the sugar from them, so from the consumer’s perspective this feels unfair.
The drinks came out overblended, melty, and watered down. We couldnt taste the coconut that we purchased and the drink generally tasted like blended ice water.
The facility seems understaffed and run down as well, with the bathroom roped off from the dining area so as to discourage use.
For all the cheapness exhibited in the operation its unclear where the money saved is actually going
This place felt like a huge let down today and I only stopped in by request of a pregnant friend
Feels like the place could balance their fiscal stoicism with an equal awareness of their responsibility to their client base

I love the food here but whats the purpose of ordering online to cut in line when I had to wait 10 minutes after everyone else that came in after me ordered.
I ordered online. Walked to the pickup line and was completely ignored by the high-school looking female. She took everyone else’s order. I had to ask for my food.
I work alot with 30 minute lunch or dinner breaks. I don’t have time to wait and order or wait for food when I clearly see it ready on the counter.
Customer service on pickups from the app needs work.

Really good service. Great smoothies!!! Blimy Limy is my favorite!!! Just a chocolate with no expresso added is also very good. Would definitely recommend any tropical smoothie location for Great smoothies.

I love, love, love Tropical Smoothie but this is the first location I’ve been to in which the smoothies tasted terrible. It’s like they skimp on the ingredients and load up on ice. The food was decent but smoothies not so much. We ended up getting our money back and ordered from the Trop Smoothie by our house instead. If you like watered down, fruit adjacent smoothies, then this is your place.
