@BiBi: I want to start with I’m a big fan of this duo I’ve gone to nija sushi in Prov RI and that was bomb but Taino doesn’t not represent what they sell. Went for my early birthday dinner and honestly NO It’s 2.5 out of 5 stars for me and that’s me being nice . Food portion is small for the cost . The mofongo was sad cold dry and very small, sushi was small lacking in flavor, no alcohol was available but we still went trusting the food made up for it . The service was horrible (I’m a bartender) so yeah not it . Servers huddled up in the corner talking I asked for water 3 times limes and salt 4 times each time I pulled someone different . The food looks pretty but that means nothing when it should taste good . Very disappointed ☹

Amy was amazing… thank you for your customer service. I arrived with one other person and we had a great time. Amy came to see us immediately, was kind and polite, and sat us wherever we wanted. We didn’t have to wait very long for our food after our orders were placed, and the food? It was astounding! The food came and it was so neatly prepared, I just had to take photos! There were only few choices, but choices that suit everyone’s palate.
The restaurant was clean and the tables were spotless.
So far, there is NOTHING I can complain about! Again, thank you for your customer service Amy!

Taino Restaurant is the kind of spot you do not expect to find so close to home. The Japanese–Latino fusion works better than most places that try this mix. The flavors hit hard in the best way and the presentation shows real pride. Service is sharp, friendly, and never rushed. You feel taken care of.
The biggest win is that I no longer need to drive far to get Latin flavors with real technique and an elegant atmosphere. This place brings both together without losing authenticity or quality. Easy recommendation.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The fusion of Japanese tradition with Dominican flavors is truly phenomenal—every dish tastes as incredible as it looks. My personal favorites were the Ninja Conconcitos and Ninja’s Chofan. The staff were exceptionally friendly and made us feel right at home. While they currently don’t serve alcohol, the cozy atmosphere, live music, and warm hospitality make this spot a perfect 10/10 for a memorable date night.

We were expecting amazing food and service, only to be disappointed when just about everything was mid. We ordered: mofonguito planto, mofonguito yuca, passion fruit juice, spicy tuna roll, ninja chofan with steak, and ninja pollo. From everything we ordered, we recommend the mofonguito yuca and spicy tuna roll. The yuca was delicate and tasted amazing paired with ropa vieja. The mofonguito plátano, was a bit overfried and would have been better if they provided mayoketchup. The ninja chofan was underwhelming, the rice did not taste fresh. The ninja pollo was good, but not something I’d come back for. The passion fruit juice tasted like the Goya brand, not natural juice. The service was okay, our waitress was not attentive and seemed to be MIA most of the time.
Worth noting– there were a few things on the menu that they did not have at the time we went: maduros, cappuccino, and alcoholic beverages. Not the full-service experience we were looking forward to.
This was an hour drive for us, and overall we’ve decided it’s not revisiting the restaurant.

Taino is a bold spinoff from a Lawrence favorite, now bringing its Dominican-inspired sushi fusion to Worcester. The vibe at the bar is upbeat but laid-back — a great spot for a casual night out or a fun date. It’s not your typical sushi joint, and that’s exactly what makes it stand out.
️ Food & Drinks
The menu puts a flavorful spin on sushi staples — think plantains, deep-fried avocado, and grilled meats in place of traditional raw fish. We tried two signature rolls and were impressed with the creativity and bold flavor.
The calamari, however, was a miss for us — overly chewy and not quite as crisp as expected.
Drinks were a highlight: fun, tropical, and well-balanced. You can tell the cocktail game is strong here.
Service & Hospitality
We sat at the bar and the service was quick, chill, and super friendly. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and were easy to chat with.
Unique Selling Point
What really makes Taino shine is its cultural fusion. The sushi isn’t about raw fish — it’s about flavor, identity, and putting a Dominican twist on something familiar. The menu might not be endless, but it’s thoughtfully curated to reflect that balance.

The cuts of salmon were great but the seasoning was not. Very bland and cold. The sushi was great and came out quick. It was pretty loud.

This was an interesting experience. The staff here were very friendly and professional. The food was good but don’t do what we did and order a lot of food. They have plantains in much of the menu which is okay for me but not in the amounts we ordered. The butter knifes are oddly weird on how loud they are when they fall of the tables. The sound is louder than the music and people talking to each other combined. There isn’t much free parking on the side lot of plenty of paid parking on the street. I am looking forward to going back again soon

Food was okay, a bit pricey for size of dishes. Sodas were not free refill, which was shocking for size of drink. As soon as we walked in, we noticed it wasn’t busy for a Saturday night, that may have had to due to the fact that they didn’t have a liquor license, and haven’t for the past couple months. It looked like the owner was sitting at the bar with a friend or family, and they were drinking wine openly even though they can’t serve alcohol. Was a bit of a let down.
