We’ve been coming here almost once a week for years so I know what the meal is supposed to look like. Upon checking our order I discovered that we were given small sides (see the attached picture – this is NOT the size/amount that we’ve always gotten). I walk back in thinking they were busy and maybe there had been a mistake. The owner instantly had an attitude as if it was crazy that I’d ask if this was the size I was supposed to get. After a bit of back and forth, he explained to me that I “got 2 fried things”(fries and yuca) as if that’s ever mattered? My fresco order was ALSO small and that’s not fried so I’m not sure what the reasoning behind that was, but I didn’t bring it up because my wife and I are the only ones in the family who eat it. Eventually, the owner told his employee to just give it to us as if he were doing us a favor and walked off.
I don’t know if they are struggling to find help and so the owner is now there more and trying to find ways to cut costs or something (the fresco mix no longer and hasn’t for awhile had tomatoes in it) but dude either change your menu or raise your prices but don’t not give folks what they believe they are paying for. Certainly no need to be rude when questioned about it, either way.
Food is usually pretty good which is why I still gave em 2 stars but I can’t see myself going back to this location.
I have always loved the food and folks at TG, but this location is great and the food is MOUTH WATERING
FOOD: They have a new chicken sandwich which was juicy and crispy outside. The daily specials include some Latin beans which were true comfort food.
The Cuban sandwich with fries was a tasty large lunch fest
The tea is sweet and the cilantro and garlic sauces really added a nice counter balance to all the rich meat and cheese.
For a first timer Please try the (TIP: South of the Border bowl with black beans for a sample of heathy heaven on earth!!)
They also have beef empanadas and will do catering and special orders if you call ahead.
SERVICE: The staff are so friendly, professional, and obviously true foodies as they enjoyed our selection process and gave us all kinds of ideas and recommendations
LOCATION: This Eastside hidden gem is easily accessible from Pelham OR HWY 14 @ I-85
ATMOSPHERE: This location has TONS of outside seating and a longer corridor of tables for a bit of an intimate feel
And the grill and sides are all right there – like a street food vibe
PRICE: The cost is fair for the amount of food you get – they have VERY generous portions
LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED by good people
Buen Provecho!!!
