Turo-turo style – point to the food you choose. $8.75 for a combo with rice and 2 dishes or 2 servings of same dish; addtl $ for beef. Price for combos is good and the food was ok. Portion for takeout is less though. Halo-halo $8 was plain, small amt of sweet ingredients and sago balls were hard (bec cups are prepped and kept in fridge); no flan or ice cream (wasn’t given an option). Pay after eating.
Small grocery for filipino food/pantry needs. Pricier than Queens.
3 small tables inside and a couple outdoors. Restroom in the back.

Stopped here on our way out of the city and it did not disappoint. We eat Filipino food all the time in Queens but this food blew us out of the water. We ordered 2 lunch combos with rice. We tried the longganisa, beef steak, pork adobo, lechon, and spicy pork. We also tried the cabbage soup and it was amazing. Our favorite was the pork adobo. The service was great and the portions were very generous – enough for both my wife and I to eat another full meal at dinner time. We got the halo halo to end our meal and loved every bite.

Tropical Grille is one of only two Filipino spots in Rockland County that pulls double duty—part grocery store, part takeout counter. So if you’re craving Filipino food or need to grab some 555 and filipino spaghetti sauce, your choices are pretty slim.

The convenience is great—you can get your sinigang fix and your soy sauce refill in one trip. But when it comes to the food itself? Let’s just say it’s decent… but not exactly the meal that makes you close your eyes and think of your lola’s cooking. It’s like they got 80% of the way there and then decided to take a coffee break.

That said, if you’re homesick for Filipino flavors and don’t feel like cooking, this place scratches the itch—just maybe not as satisfyingly as you’d hope. But hey, beggars (and hungry Filipinos in Rockland) can’t be choosers.

The food and the service is the best part of Tropical Grille. You’re not going here for the atmosphere because there really is not much of an atmosphere considering you order food and there’s a bit of a grocery store and you can sit at a table or two to eat your food but for the most partyou are taking your food with you and it is absolutely delicious. So if you’re looking for absolutely delicious food served by some very nice people this is place for you…and me .

My family and I order catering from here at least once a year for parties or holidays. The cooking is great, portions generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The storefront even has a small store for the last minute odds and ends for your parties and meals. For anyone looking for great Filipino food, I highly recommend this place.

Food is awesome! If you’re hungry and craving for Filipino food (adobo, lechon kawali, bicol express etc), this is definitely a place to be! They serve authentic filipino food prepared by very good filipino cooks. Everyone is so nice and accomodating. I wish I was able to try their boneless lechon belly. Would definitely try it next time I visit!

Great selection of Filipino food. The only thing is they always run out of garlic fried rice so early in the day. By noon, it’s all gone so the only option you have is either pancit or white rice.

This is a no frills cafeteria kind of eating place. I usually just take out several.of their combo meals which include choice of 2 dishes and rice and soup around $6. Also has a tiny mart with Filipino and Asian staples. To get your purple ice cream, cheese and corn ice cream fix. They also have halo halo while supplies last. I also order from them during holidays and parties trays of food and always get compliments and refer them to tropical grill.
