Their online menu is mobile friendly and very easy ro navigate and read; we later discovered their in house menu is the opposite of this, very difficult to read because of the clustered wording, the font color and lack of spacing. The restaurant is licensed to serve alcohol.
There is plenty of free parking in the adjacent dirt parking lot.
The restaurant is a family owned since the 1980s and could serve 45 to 50 people at a time. It has a cozy feeling and a friendly atmosphere but is a restaurant that definitely shows its age. The ceiling tiles were discolored, carpet on the walls, and skanted, uneven floors.
Our server Sadie was absolutely perfect; friendly, social, funny, professional and gave great service.
BREADED JALAPENO BITES – served with sour cream for dipping. These tasted ok but tatsed like a frozen jalapeno popper I would buy in a grocery store and deep fried.
HOMEMADE LASAGNA DINNER with salad – was good and seasoned well. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was tasty.
HOMEMADE GOULASH is frozen but homemade. It was seasoned well but the noodles were over cooked. The bowl and plates reminded me when I was in summer camp in the 1970s, very nostalgic.
HOMEMADE CHILI – is frozen but homemade. It was disappointing and it lacked substance; it was basically a spicy tomato sauce together with very little meat and kidney beans.
HOT ROAST BEEF SANDWICH – the fries were crispy and delicious. The beef itself was very dry and placed on top of dry bread. The gravy was well seasoned but tasting like a canned gravy so very underwhelming. We wouldn’t order this again.
CALZONIZZA – this is an interesting twist on a calzone/pizza combination. Fairly large and you choose the toppings. It was well cooked and plenty of leftovers to take home.
Our expectations were higher than what we experienced.
Overall our experience was ok but it feels like a lot of their stuff is just frozen, packaged food.
This place could be so much more than what it gives. A huge menu with basic, frozen fare, where it could be a gem with a smaller menu and fresh, homeade meals that draw in crowds. Although they’ve been around for a long time, the quality is lacking and the love is gone.
Extra ricotta.
The place didn’t look the cleanest when I picked up my order..and it was just after opening, which means it was left dirty overnight.
The calzone was VERY doughy. Like…chewy, not how a calzone should be.
It tasted like they used garlic powder instead of fresh garlic & there were NO seasonings inside the calzone at all! For an Italian restaurant, I was VERY disappointed in my meal.
I will not be ordering from here again. Next time, I’ll wait for Italian affair to open to order a calzone.
*my review is not for pizza and other items beyond what was mentioned. Please take that into consideration.
*they did not provide knife or fork to cut calzone. I had to stop at Stewart’s to get them myself.
They had issues with their drinks and had to have them replaced. should have been a red flag to leave right then. Server was very friendly and nice. The menu is different from online and a bit confusing with the font. Food well, what we purchased, fish and chips with a side of mac and cheese. Fish was frozen fish that was deep fried. Mac and cheese was boxed KRAFT Mac and cheese. Cheese burger deluxe which had to get sent back because the topping was wrong, not how I ordered it. The place kinda had a pee like smell to it after a bit. Waitress didn’t come back to check to see if we needed anything. We had to go up to the bar to get out check. Not a place we will go back to. I would definitely not recommend this place at all!
We were back in town and decided to return. Food was very disappointing!
Calzones were under stuffed, and under cooked. Strangely enough I am okay with undercooked dough. My wife was not. I think this was our last time here.
