This diner has a wonderful cozy and relaxing vibe. Loved exploring all the pictures on the walls while eating food here. Everyone is friendly and there seems to be so many regulars.Parking lot is big enough to not make finding a spot a hassle! They also take credit cards.
On the other hand , food in my opinion is just ok. It was not bad at all, but nothing special that makes me want to come back. We got waffles and omelet. Again just my opinion but I can’t give food more that 3/5.
Service is a little weird and confusing. You order at the counter, pour your own coffee, and find a place to sit, then they bring you the food, then after that you take back your dirty plates. I’m not sure how it would work if you want anything extra later, or if you want water . But I was probably expecting standard service that I had seen in other diners and this is not like that.
Overall, I would recommend.

I had breakfast and lunch here today while waiting on my car to get serviced down the road. Staff here was super accommodating and friendly. Food was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. Most importantly, it was a clean establishment which I appreciated.

Breakfast was okay here. It’s a little strange that it’s counter service to order and then they bring you your food and will come around with refills with coffee. Wait staff was nice and helpful. Food was just okay. There’s not much you can do to improve an atmosphere in storefront type restaurant, but they did have interesting historic pictures on the walls and other things. Normal working people mixed in with some entitled people who seem to think they don’t have to throughout their creamer cups and other things at the coffee station.
I don’t think it rises to the overall rating they had at the time of this review. Prices were decent.

I am only giving it 4 stars because you have to order at the counter in the back of the restaurant. I have no problem doing that, except, there is no signage telling you that you have to do this. I had to interrupt other diners to ask if I had to wait to be seated and they explained the process. once that was figured out, service was exceptional.

Nice breakfast restaurant. Great prices, nice portion, excellent food. Ordered at the counter, get your own coffee/ silverware and have a seat, food brought to you. Customer service was good. Food served in timely fashion, not to be busy during my visit. Had the number #1

Visiting from out of town and wanted something other than the hotel breakfast. Man, I’m glad we found this place. Everything we had was delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive. Already thinking about going back again tomorrow morning!

The diner was unbelievably busy when I got there, but the staff still kept up very well with the rush. The rush died down about fifteen minutes after, and the service was immaculate. Very interesting style of diner, you place your order before being seated, which I thought was pretty neat. Food was very good, and I was definitely impressed by the breakfast burrito.

This place was really good. Excellent omelette, bacon well done and crispy like it should be. Coffee was nice and fresh. Breakfast croissant sandwich was also fantastic. We will be back for sure. This is probably the best tasting breakfast I’ve had in the south hills and it’s relatively cheap. Staff was very friendly and the place was clean.

Great little diner with good food and fair prices. You order at the counter then grab any available table you can find. Self selve coffee. It’s not fancy, but if you’re looking for a quick breakfast then it’s fine.

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, Trolley Barn Eatery reminds me of a small town romance novel. This eatery feels like it’s smack dab in a small town though it’s located in a Pittsburgh suburb.
Orders are taken at the register in the back, and a waitress will seat you (it was packed on a Sunday morning). If you order coffee, tea, or water, you will need to serve yourself from the coffee maker by the register as well as grab your napkins and utensils.
There’s a certain charm about the eatery, but if you’re concerned about COVID, I’d recommend ordering takeout since it’s a small restaurant with a loyal crowd.
The meal was delicious, and looking at the photos make me want it again!
