Tribute Eatery it’s the kind of place that feels elevated without being pretentious, where chef-driven dishes meet comfort food that’s been given a glow-up. The decoration is impeccable. It’s warm, inviting, and somehow perfect for both a casual bite and a special night out.
We started with the Burrata: creamy, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The heirloom tomatoes and tomato jam added just the right pop of sweetness, the balsamic brought acidity but the toasted focaccia was a bit too stale.
For my main, I had the Lobster Mac Au Gratin, there were legit chunks of lobster throughout, swimming in a smoky gouda béchamel that was rich without being heavy. The gremolata and chives cut through the creaminess perfectly. Comfort food, but make it classy.
My wife went with the Tribute Burger, and it was a monster in the best way possible. Two juicy beef patties, melty white american cheese, crunchy slaw, pickles for acidity, and a garlicky aioli all on a soft brioche bun cooked just right.
If you’re in The District at Prairie Trail, this place is absolutely worth a stop, whether it’s brunch, dinner, or a late-night bite.

My husband and I had an amazing experience here on a busy Friday night a couple weekends ago. Our server, Yaneli is what made our experience over the top! She was so friendly and personable and didn’t miss a single step of service even with a full section! She absolutely killed it.
The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the wagyu meatball skillet. Super high quality tasting in a delicious tomato sauce. I had Sam’s Rigatoni and it was so full of flavor and was more than enough for leftovers! My husband ordered the steak and frites. Steak cooked and seasoned perfectly and they cut it in the kitchen for you. Literally melt in your mouth!!!! General Tso’s broccoli side is a MUST TRY. It tastes like chicken and was the star of the show!!!
Not pictured was my cocktail. I ordered the strawberry basil mule and it was delicious and hand crafted to perfection
This place is a little bit pricier BUT they serve super high quality, delicious food and their service is top notch. which makes the price absolutely reasonable. We will be back!!!

We randomly wandered in a few days ago and were pleasantly surprised! This place is still pretty new but the service was on-point! The bartender made some great food suggestions and created a refreshing mocktail to go with my dish. The Lobster BLT was pretty good and even had gigantic, juicy claw meat on it, but I think the Avocado Toast stole the show. It was just the right combination of ingredients and exactly what I wanted for a flavorful, but light brunch. It looks like it’s one big slab of bread topped with goodies, but it’s actually broken up into individual tartines with the perfect amount of ingredients on each piece. Everything was spectacular, including the décor. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance!

I don’t post many reviews, but this is one is worth it. I have been looking for a French Dip as good as the one at the White House Tavern in Aspen, Colorado, and have finally found it! It doesn’t come with horseradish (which is great), but a buttery cheesy mix of boursin and havarti. I chose to get the red onions on the side, though my wife enjoyed them. The AuJus is as good as anywhere else I’ve had. It’s pretty pricey for a sandwich in Iowa, but it’s worth it! Putting this on a weekly special would be a real treat My wife enjoyed the Steak Frites and our server was great, too.

I got in just before two and had a seat at the bar. I was greeted before sitting down and poured water before given a menu. Thought of getting the gnocchi but decided on the burger. It comes with a salad that is very acidic if that’s your thing. I added some salt and pepper to help with the flavor. Bartender was very knowledgeable and service was excellent. Knowing I cheaped out on the meal was a gamble, and it didn’t pay off. The burger comes with two patties that were okay but I felt like the slaw was a bit of a cop out. The garlic aoli I could not even taste. Bartender talked me into the baklava cheesecake which I will be digging into shortly. For $40, I’d much rather get an entree and a water. Is this restaurant a nice place to eat? Probably. I was not a fan of the music and the chairs at the bar gave no back support. All that said, I’ll have to go back and try something else. For a burger though, I’ll stick to bbops

Service was excellent, our server brought by multiple water jars during our visit. The lobster roll and lobster mac & cheese was well worth the money, they seriously load up the lobster and was cooked very well. The lobster bisque definitely needs to be thickened up, it was more like a soup consistency. A little flour or corn starch would make the consistency great, but still tasted amazing!

We went for brunch and were pleasantly surprised by the variety and unique items on the menu. The bloody mary’s were top notch and the food was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be back for brunch soon. Best part was no wait – that probably will not be the case for long.

They comped my meal, but still feel the need to share. The Gochujang chicken and waffles
were terrible. The chicken was basically all breading—super crunchy. Could barely find any actual chicken. I ate only a couple bites. It was like it was left over at a cheap Chinese restaurant. Like it had been sitting there forever under a warmer. Do not get this meal.
The waffle was rock hard and it did not come with any maple syrup, so I asked for some and the waitress said it comes pre-soaked. I have no idea how this waffle could’ve been pre-soaked when it was hard as a rock there’s no way soaking it in syrup would make it this texture. Also, we got an order of garlic fries and they were tiny straw fries that had no flavor at all. They were just their normal fries with a crap ton of some kind of cheese on top and some rosemary seasoning. They tasted like nothing. The place is super pretty but it was not busy at all and the food took forever. I don’t understand how. Also, a few others in my group got the biscuits and gravy. Although the description says it is spicy, nowhere does it say that it’s not your traditional biscuits and gravy. The sauce was red, indicating they were using some kind of red pepper sauce or something like that. Usually, if you say biscuits and gravy is spicy, it’s because of the meat that they use in it being spicy or something like that. So those who got it weren’t too impressed with that either. Looking at the menu it looks like they have a lot of cool and unique menu items, but after this experience, I will not ever be going back. I do not recommend this to anyone.

We went to Tribute because there was a lot of hype on social media, and it definitely did not let us down. For our appetizer we had the Arancini. The only complaint is that we wish we would have tasted the truffle a little bit, but they were delicious. For our entrées, we had the lobster Mac and gnocchi with short ribs. Absolutely no complaints. Both were delicious and even better then expected. I also had the espresso martini and it was OK but not the best nor the worst that I’ve ever had. Overall, a solid four or 4.5 out of five. It’s a great spot for a date night and it is super cute on the inside.

Can’t understand a lot of the menu. Decided to get 1 of every side. Everything is presented beautifully, but it all just didn’t taste that good, at least not for my pallet. Won’t be coming back, sad another failed Ankeny restaurant. Beer battered fish was good, but the coleslaw was odd and the tartar sauce tasted weird. We never leave food, but this time we didn’t take anything home. Staff and atmosphere were great which earned it another star.
