Absolutely horric experience! First time visiting and the customer service was very bad. I walked in nice and friendly and was greeted by the most annoyed server ever. It appeared and sounded like she was ready to go. I didnt catch her name over the attitude but she was slender and pale in the face. She didnt like the fact that I didnt know what the food items were and the fact I was undecisive mad her even madder. To top it off she had the nerve to pickup my cornbread with her bare hands (no gloves) and toss it in my plate.Surprisingly one of her coworkers asked her was she just going to touch my cornbread barehanded? and do you know she had the ordasety to reply…”Absolutely!” The concerned later kindly replaced my cornbread only at my request. All of the other servers were trying to be nice and ignore the incident but this interaction made a bad experience. It’s unfortunate because honestly the food was not at all that bad, I mean the chicken could be more seasoned to my taste but everything else was tasteful. The price wasn’t that bad either especially in today’s economy. I like to try new restaurants and consider myself a real foodie conoseur but these are the type of experiences that ruin businesses that probably would be somewhere to eat at daily if customers simply felt welcomed.

Stumbled across this gem today while traveling through Johnston. Food was fantastic! Best meal I’ve had in a while and I will drive out of my way if I’m back in the area for this place. Classic southern comfort food at a fair price served with a smile.

A landmark restaurant that’s been around since before most of us were born. This place has a good selection of food with a staff that will treat you like family (the good kind) and leave you full. Definitely worth a place to try out.

The food was both overcooked and undercooked.

The burgers dry and the fries raw in the middle. Kinda hard to achieve on both fronts.
Service was not attentive, rude, doesnt appreciate out of towers.
Which is sad, since its kind of a cute place.

It had delicious food. The atmosphere reminded me of Happy Days and Mel’s Diner. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for the food to come to your table. They cook the food after you order it. The service was friendly. Also, they have a salad bar.

We both got the fried AND grilled pork chop plate with a baked potato. As well as the salad bar and ice cream. The food was wonderful. All of the staff is super friendly. We will definitely be back!

We ate here based on reviews and I’m really glad we did. The burger was cooked to perfection, ribeye steak sandwich was delicious. This place reminds me of a drive in from my youth, loved all the older decorations. The lady at the grill sure knew her stuff and was so friendly. I would definately eat here again if in the area! I wish they had soft serve ice cream that would have been fantastic.
