Really glad we found Trendy Dumpling. We ordered the pan-fried bao, flat noodles, crispy bottom bao, and soup dumplings, and everything was very enjoyable. The bao had great texture, especially the crispy bottoms, and the soup dumplings were flavorful and satisfying. The flat noodles were comforting and well seasoned. Service was smooth, the atmosphere was casual and inviting, and parking was okay, which made the visit easy. Overall, a solid experience and definitely a place I’d come back to when craving dumplings.

Trendy Dumpling took me on a wonderful journey through authentic Chinese flavors with every bite and drink! On a chilly 40-degree day, their ginger honey tea paired perfectly with mouthwatering soup bao, hearty beef noodle soup, and indulgent chocolate bao.

As you step inside, you’ll notice the bustling open kitchen where skilled chefs craft fresh noodles right before your eyes. The prompt wait staff enhances the experience with their efficient service, making you feel welcomed.

The restaurant’s decor is a beautiful blend of classic and modern styles, reminiscent of old Shanghai, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving delicious soup bao and noodles, Trendy Dumpling is the perfect spot for authentic Chinese food—no trip to Chinatown necessary!

Delicious! We tried the hot and spicy dumpling, pan fried bao, soup dumpling, and biang biang noodles. I LOVED the pan fried bao so much. The dough is delicious, paired with its slight crunch and the moist and flavorful meat inside. The next dumpling I enjoyed is the soup dumpling. And the hot and spicy dumpling is good too, but for me it was more oil and less chili so it wasn’t spicy at all. The biang biang noodle was good too since it was homespun, but this sauce was indeed spicier! But kind of similar to the hot and spicy dumpling sauce (mainly chili oil). But I recommend this place, and it is good price too!

Tried Trendy Dumpling and everything was on point. The Shu Mai were fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Hot & Spicy Dumplings had the perfect kick—spicy but still balanced, and the sauce was amazing. The highlight for me was the Beef Noodle Soup with Biang Noodles… super comforting, rich broth, and those wide noodles had a great chewy bite. Portions were solid, food came out hot, and overall it was absolutely worth it. Definitely coming back!

I think we had higher expectations after reading the reviews but our experience turned out to be okay. I would say four is a generous rating for the restaurant potentially it was also the fact that it was right around the Valentine’s Day so it was packed and really busy, which certainly impacts the service and the attention. Anyway from a Food perspective highly recommend the being being noodles which is a vegetarian dish and essentially long folded noodles boiled with bok choy and mushroom and served with some chilli oil. I would say that is probably the signature dish here. We also got the dry pepper chicken which was pretty decent and a special fried rice along with this. I wanted to try the bow cause it was so famous and people had commented. I ended up getting the vegetarian bow which they were kind enough to do a crispy bottom on since they usually do that only for the Meat bao buns but the bowels left me underwhelmed. The filling in the veggie Bao was just greens like spinach and grassy greens. It didn’t really have a taste of flavour at all or I should say a pleasant flavour at all. I ended up filling them with the pepper chicken and eating them that way but I wouldn’t recommend getting the veggie bao buns.

Hand pulled noodles and dumplings were delicious. Could see the chef making them after we ordered. Staff was all very attentive and helpful. Unassuming setting. Reasonable prices and a good variety or dishes. We were quite happy to have found this little gem on vacation.

We visited Trendy Dumpling on Thanksgiving evening when many places were closed, so it was a lucky find.
The decor is stylish, and it was fun to watch the chefs at work through the glass window.
Since we had a big lunch earlier, we only ordered a few dishes this time — we’ll come back next time.

If you’re a true Asian looking for authenticity… Look elsewhere. The $55 Peking duck was dry and not served in the traditional manner (imagine juicy succulent skin and moist & tender moist sliver of meat – this was not that). It came with pancakes but those were chewy. They served soup dumpling with soy sauce instead of standard ginger vinegar. The flavor of the crispy bottom bao was decent. But missing the soup like juice that some places pull off that make it stellar. General tso chicken was good.

The food was simple and delicious. The biang biang noodles were perfectly al dente, the chili oil was mildly spicy with chewy mushrooms, crunchy bok choy and bright cilantro. The soup bao was sticky and chewy with hot flavorful broth inside and strong pork flavor. There was nice jazz music playing and a comfortable environment. The waiter didn’t speak much which is fine. Service was fast.

Absolutely incredible dumplings!

From the moment we walked in, the aroma alone had us excited — and every bite delivered. The dumplings were perfectly crafted: juicy, flavorful, and fresh out of the steamer. You can really taste the quality in every dish, especially the soup dumplings and pan-fried pork dumplings.

The service was fast and friendly, and the staff made sure our tea was always full. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, and even when it’s packed (which it often is!), everything still feels smooth and well run.

This place easily earns its reputation as one of the best dumpling spots in town. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or bringing friends for dinner, you’ll leave happy. Highly recommend the chili oil dumplings — life-changing!
