When we return for a visit, Trefzger’s Bakery is a must. The chocolate coffee cake has been a birthday cake for me in years past. It is the BEST. The service hustles when its busy. I love going into the wide open space of this store. I can remember having to wait outside and around the building at the old location. This place is a Peoria area pillar. Every now and again, someone who loves me brings me a chocolate coffee cake or thumbprints or sugar cookies to Florida. Thank you! Words cannot express the mouthful of joy Trefzger’s brings.

Unfortunately I hate to make this post, as I have always ordered my items with Trefzgers with an amazing result. These cookies, for my daughters 21st birthday event turned out terribly wrong. The taste was absolutely horrible, hence why so many were left and it looked like they just slopped on the white icing. Having paid extra for the design, which it was suppose to of been 1 big red ribbon on each.

Local landmark bakery, though it’s relocated several times. Currently Trefzgers is operating out of a renovated historic building that once manufactured Glide Bicycles. Any type of bake good can be found or ordered. We bought a few Thumbprints, which is a shortbread cookie with buttercream topping, an apple turnover, and a blueberry Danish.

I recently visited this bakery and had a wonderful experience. The pastries were fresh, soft, and full of flavor, especially the croissants and chocolate cake. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the shop itself was clean and cozy. You can really taste the quality in every bite. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Changed the glitter sugar cookie recipe and frosting on them recipe. Terrible and fresh but hard! Won’t buy any more and I’ve bought many. Always loved anything from Trefzgers, they had great stuff, always before! Why change what’s great .
