A Must-Try, Even if You’re Not Vegan!
I took my friend who is visiting (she’s vegan) to Tree Hugger Kitchen, and it was a total hit! I’m pescatarian, but their 100% plant-based menu was perfect for both of us. The vibe inside is super cozy and artsy, too.
I was feeling adventurous and got the Montecristo sandwich. Wow! It was perfectly crunchy and golden brown. I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure how the vegan cheese and jam would work together, but the sweet and savory combo was absolutely delicious. It just makes sense!
My friend had the Baja Phish Tacos, which looked (and apparently tasted) amazing. We both left super happy.
The service was great, and we saw they had a tempting dessert case as well (next time!).
It was just a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Tree Hugger Kitchen, whether you’re vegan or not. You should definitely give it a try!

Wow, just wow. This spot is fantastic. I ordered the the Double Trouble tacos as my main entree (not surprising if you follow me). The tacos were unbelievable, presenting a fantastic contrast in a soft shell taco layered with refried beans followed by a crunchy taco shell filled and standard taco toppings. It was absolutely delicious and featured a walnut chorizo, which I have not seen at a vegan spot before. It came with chips…..
PRO TIP: order a bowl of chili with the tacos to dip the chips in and to collect any taco toppings that fell out of the shells.
The chili by itself was really really good but paired even better with the chips.

Visiting from out of town and I decided to hit up Tree Hugger Kitchen after a Google search of the local vegan options… And holy crap it did not disappoint.
Everything on the menu looks fantastic but I ultimately decided on the ‘Buffalo Mac Wrap’ and it was, without a doubt, the best wrap I’ve had in years. Cheesy, creamy, crispy tots, packed with flavor and grilled to perfection.
Highly recommend and THK will be my first stop next time I find myself in KC.

Let me start by making it very clear that I’m not vegan and have had very few vegan dining experiences thus far. That being said, I was absolutely FLOORED by how delicious this place is!! I ordered the Buffalo Mac Wrap, which FAR surpassed my expectations. I followed it up with their chocolate peanut butter tart and was blown away by how good it was. And I’m not talking “good for vegan food.” I mean, this was just flat-out delicious. The environment is very artsy, relaxing and welcoming. Friendly service staff and a great atmosphere all around. Totally going back. A lot.

I’ve always wanted to start eating better and be more open to new things, so I’m very happy I tried this place first. The atmosphere is very quaint and vibrant. Plus the staff is friendly with their recommendations if you’ve never had vegan. I may have been in a few times for the chili, but this time, I had to get the Reuben fries. Even if you don’t like sauerkraut, I urge you to come get this in try for yourself. If this menu tastes like these fries, then I will be back more than once

Walked in here for the first time after a very long stressful day. The staff took the time to explain menu items to me and even let me vent a bit about my day. ( I just missed a rush of people that were there for lunch) I came to eat around 230p. So many yummy options I almost could not choose. I got the hunny mustard chicken sammy, seasond fries, a coke and a piece of a pumpkin like coffee cake with some sort of glaze over the top.
It was ALL amazing. Id like to note their desserts change so be sure to ask what they have first.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I cannot wait to try other menu items! I got mine to-go and forgot to take pics. Howwever, I snagged one of my dessert!
