The food is quite authentic and really tasty. But there’s a bit of two tales here. It seems like there is the regular Chinese food, the dimsums, and then Beijing duck. We can attest that the regular Chinese food was really tasty – whether it’d be chowmein or lamb or even string beans. Fresh ingredients. Well prepared. And they are not stingy on portions.
The issue was with the dumpling and dimsum section. Every dimsum and dumpling innards were bland. Almost as if the dimsum department forgot salt. Also, the bread for the chasiu bao was “dry” which was quite weird becaue it come steamed. Do not got to Treasure for dimsum.
We did not get an opportunity to try out their Beijing duck but they carve the roasted duck by your table side which felt authentic. We’ll have to return to check out the duck.
So again, a great start. Doesn’t hit it out of the park yet. And for dimsum, go to other places like Tea Palette.
Our server didn’t quite speak English and seldom came by so that was a bit of a minus but not enough to deter us to try again. 4 stars for now.
While the exterior is rather basic minus the thoughtful and creative neon signs, the interior is elegant, modern, and upscale. You’d not expect this from this area. You’d be even more impressed if you knew this used to be an IHOP…
The service was superb when we went. They were attentive and on top of things. All our food came in a timely manner. It appears other diners may have had a different experience though.
The food was delicious and the portions were quite generous, making the higher price tag easier to swallow. While there may be better places for Peking duck, dumplings, and others in the area, overall most of what we had was good.
Overall, this is a solid addition to the area and since it’s a new restaurant, I’ll round this up to 4.5 stars.
The restaurant itself is clean and nicely decorated, with comfortable seating. They offer complimentary regular tea, or you can upgrade to their specialty teas for about $8.
I was a bit surprised that, for a dim sum restaurant, they don’t offer steamed rice rolls or chow mein. Their dim sum menu is relatively small compared to other places.
We ordered five dim sum dishes:
1. Steamed Spareribs – Flavorful and well-marinated. I was pleasantly surprised that they used aged orange peel and fermented olives, a traditional touch that’s rarely seen in dim sum places nowadays.
2. Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings) – The filling was fresh and flavorful without that frozen shrimp taste, but the skin was a bit too soft and mushy.
3. Taro Puff – Unfortunately, this one was disappointing. The crust wasn’t flaky enough, and the filling tasted unbalanced — slightly sour, possibly from too many mushrooms and not enough meat.
4. Gold and Silver Turnip Cake – The dish wasn’t exactly as described on the menu since it came with one piece each of taro cake, coconut mochi cake, and turnip cake. However, I actually liked the variety — each piece was crispy on the outside and delicious.
5. Pan-Fried Chive & Pork Potstickers – The filling was tasty, but the skin was a bit too thick.
Overall, the restaurant shows promise — a pleasant environment, great service, and a few standout dishes. I’d say it’s worth checking out once they’ve had time to expand their menu and smooth out the details after their soft opening.
One small note: the pickle in the Hengyang noodles felt a bit off and didn’t quite match the dish
The floors are slippery. Very slippery and you can easily fall and get hurt. The floor is made of some strange tile which is super slick.
Food presentation is good but is only average in taste.
The staff tries but lack experience and gets every order wrong across many tables.
