My husband and I recently met up with a friend for dinner at Travieso after hearing great things about it and we were all very happy with our experience. We started with the brussels bravas, simply the best brussels I have ever had. Then we each had an entree, my husband got the BBQ chicken, I had the shrimp scampi, and our friend had the mushroom crusted salmon. All were cooked to perfection! We asked and found out our chef that night was Arnie, so thank you Arnie for the amazing entrees! I believe Alan was the name of the other worker that night. I just want to give a shout out to each person because honestly it was such a wonderful experience we had there, and we are excited to go back sometime when back in the area. We then ended the evening with the creme brulee. It was so delicious, I still think about that dessert daily. Our server Chris was very friendly and made our experience wonderful! When we were leaving at the end of the night, we stopped at the bar to thank our bartender for our terrific drinks. His name was Eric and he was incredibly chill. The highest recommendation for this place due to an overall phenomenal experience!

Came here for a birthday dinner. We had never been to Travieso before, and, if I’m honest, our expectations were pretty mid.
I’m SO glad we went! Our expectations were so far past “exceeded” that I don’t have words for it.
The atmosphere can’t be beat. The bar area is somehow both sophisticated and comfortable at the same time. Meanwhile, the dining area is full of light and life.
The food was phenomenal, and came out much quicker than I would have thought (to be fair, we went during a pretty quiet time and that might have had something to do with that). Out of the things we had I think these are my top 3 must-try recommendations (I had to limit myself otherwise I’d list everything):
-Cheddar Biscuits
-Beef short rib with carrot risotto
-Guacamole (it comes with plantain chips and chicharrones instead of tortilla chips)
Most importantly, the staff was so unbelievably kind and helpful. Jairy at the bar and server Chris both turned a pretty good experience into a spectacular one.
This has immediately become a place that I am telling anyone who will listen to go check out.

First time visiting Travieso. We just ordered small plates to share and we’re not disappointed. Travieso is set on a unique corner downtown with windows surrounding the modern and comfortable dining area. They had a very talented soloist in the bar to provide music which carries into the dining room. Looking forward to experiencing more items from the menu in the near future.

My boyfriend and I came in for Valentine’s Day. Overall, a good experience I just think the food was over expensive for the quality. Our service was amazing and we loved the atmosphere of the place. The cheddar biscuits are good but taste the exact same as the ones from Red Lobster that you can make at home with the mix. The prime rib was okay, definitely nothing special but I did enjoy the cilantro sauce it came with. The huge potato it came with didn’t have much flavor though. The beef short rib was good but didn’t have very much meat. My favorite thing we had was a special raspberry Valentine’s drink, definitely think the bar is the gem of this restaurant.

We had some concerns about last nights dinner. It seemed like two servers could have been used for a party of our size. Service was slow. Multiple requests had to be given for drink refills 1 or 2 were filled with same drink but they wanted different ones initially and water never got refilled during the 3 hour dinner. The addition of two guest was also missed and chairs were added. The waiter did not know the order. He was going to bring out the salads as an appetizer and have me order two more entrees. I understand the idea of ordering ahead to make sure certain items are available, but it did not seem to help with the flow of the service. Everyone still had to repeat their orders to the waiter. The avocado mousse was also disappointing. We expected 24 servings in a larger portion. On top of the small portions, the waiter dropped a plate of half of them (on a guest) and never replaced them with more. When entrees were being delivered there was around a 30 minute window from first to last. Lastly, we had one of the charges for the 8 oz. prime rib substitution to a $64 butcher cut while the 12 oz substitution cost $52. We appreciate your consideration and efforts with our small company party. We try to support fellow local small business owners. Our experience for this type of event was not a great one. We expected better service and organization in having the event on a Thursday and pre-planning.

We went to Travieso Latin Fusion for a birthday celebration dinner tonight. We started with the Mischief Margarita and the monthly Community Cocktail. They were both SUBURB! We then had the chorizo stuffed mushrooms and the cheddar biscuits (which was technically a side dish but we ordered it as a starter). They were both very flavorful and exquisite! Then for our entrees we had the blackened salmon and the scallops. Both of these were excellent. The service was impeccable. Highly recommend!

Best *fancy* restaurant experience we have had. We chose to go a more expensive route, you could make $20-30 work. However, I definitely recommend spending $40-60 per person to experience everything there is to offer here. The food was flavorful and rich, the drinks were adequately strong and sweet, and everything was just presented so well!
The server had a great knowledge of the menu and was able to answer all our questions, the bar served us until our table was ready (we arrived 15 minutes before opening), and the atmosphere felt as if we could buy a drink, sit by the fire, and spend an evening soaking up the moment.
I honestly don’t have any complaints. We also got a desert, the tres leches trifle. Very delicious. I think the only thing to warn is if you are used to enormous portions and getting two meals for the price of one, this is not the place for you, unless you choose to save some for later.
But no, it was amazing, well worth the price. Something everyone within the budget of 40-60 dollars a person should aim to do while you’re in the Waukesha area.

First time here and I will be back. From the beautiful and tasty drinks at the bar, to the friendly banter and guidance of our server, to the other team members walking around and assisting, this was a great experience. Such a variety of food and every plate looked like a masterpiece. I appreciated our server bringing over small plates with the entrees that we ordered so we could all try each others’ dishes. Really good food and can’t wait to try more.

WOW!! What a HIDDEN GEM!!! Had AMAZING cocktails at this eclectic upscale cocktail lounge. The bartender Eric is beyond exceptional and knowledgeable and can create phenomenal cocktails and also fabulous conversation. This could be a new go-to for us as we would love to come back for the cuisine. A definite MUST DO- when in Downtown Waukesha. Absolutely LOVELY place and Staff!!!
