I hate writing negative reviews so this was difficult for me. The waitstaff is amazing; very nice and efficient. If the food matched the quality of service and the nice atmosphere then it’d be a five-star review for certain. The corned beef on my rueben was inedible and I became sick shortly after eating the rest of the burger. This was my second time in a two-week period I was dissatisfied so unfortunately I won’t be back for lunch or dinner. I am willing to try the breakfast, however.

Great waitress and staff. Friendly environment and pretty decent food. Would be nice to see place updated as it needs a good makeover. At 8:00 in the morning there was a musty smell. Probably due to the old carpet. Overall would recommend to someone.

Went in at noon, restaurant was less than 1/2 full. I was happy because even when it’s a packed house the meals come out quickly.
Was seated promptly. Was 12 minutes before I was acknowledged by waitress that she will “be right with us”
After 15 minutes we got up and walked out. There was no excuse for the slow service, the restaurant was the least busy that I’ve ever seen it.
They need to work on cleaning tables as well. This was not the first time I went in and had my arm sticking to the table / menus sticky, silverware not cleaned well.

You know this restaurant is lovely, we been visiting there off and on for around 5-8 years and we never got disappointed within the food.
You know the food is cooked warm and the fish, wings and everything is so good especially the onion soup.
Within that I give it a 4 star due to the wait, some things are fast some things are not fast, you know what I mean? Other than that everything is good and the staff are friendly.

My family and I went here on a Sunday. I had one of the specials; prime rib. It was amazing! Cooked exactly the way I had asked for it. My hubby had bbq chicken and he loved it. The service was great too. I can’t wait to go back, so more of my family members can try the specials too.

This place has been my favorite for the past 7 years until tonight. I have been giving this establishment my business regularly to the tune of several thousand dollars a year. Tonight my wife tried to place our take out order and was promptly told that they are no longer allowed to tell us what the soup and dinner specials are and that this came directly from the owner George without explanation. When my wife told me this I was shocked and figured someone was pranking her or that she got the wrong number. I personally called them myself and indeed this is true! The staff are no longer allowed to tell people what the dinner specials and soups are over the phone and that if they want a take out order they have to come down to find out the soups and dinner specials face to face. I explained to them that immediately after I get off the phone that I intend on doing this negative review and I have also promised to let anyone and everyone know how we feel. This is ignorant and uncalled for. I even offered the staff my name and number so I can explain myself to the owner George. I have never felt more insulted in my life as a paying customer of an establishment. Since the Travers Diner and George no longer want to tell their customers what their specials are over the phone I will NO longer be giving them my business and I will be telling everyone that will listen how ignorantly I was treated. Furthermore if George or the staff is worried about running out of something then they should tell the customer “while supplies last” or something like that and not alienate your hard working cash paying customers. Very disgusted and disappointed because we really liked this place…

We were given dirty silverwear and cups with unknown dried food on them, the restroom was disgusting. The waitress was very rude, hardly paid any attention to us and outright ignored us at times. All the food that could come from a can clearly was, proven not only in taste/appearance but by the waitress’s comment that we ordered a whole can of hash. Don’t waste your time or money at this filthy restaurant.

Huge menu, but they can’t seem to perfect the basics. My husband ordered what was billed as a Panini, but he received a blackened grilled cheese the size of my palm. I can’t even recall what I ordered but it was a wet, sloppy mess of flavorless sadness.
Our waitress pointedly ignored us – no offer to refill our coffee or drinks. Apparently we had wronged her in another life because when she did drop off our food, she did just that: dropped the plates aggressively in front of us. I’ve worked in the service industry, so I get that mistakes happen and people have bad days, but this was a real whopper of terrible service.
As we were settling our bill up front at the register, the matron of our group (my husband’s 89 year-old grandmother) politely mentioned to the hostess that we’d had a rather unsavory experience. Rather than apologize or even BS us with false promises of “I’ll be sure to address that” she just shrugged.
We absolutely will not be back.

Horrendously horrible service…world’s worst waitress. Baked potato like rubber with a large brown spot in each side. Spaghetti and meat balls hardly warm. Jello slopped in the dish, all over edges, whipped cream tasted sour/spoiled. Decaf coffee tasted hours, maybe days old. When waitress asked if I wanted a refill I stated no unless you made a fresh pot. She whisked it away and brought fresh. Every dish of food this horrible waitress brought, she practically threw at us. When leaving and telling the man taking our money that it was a horrible, horrible meal and service, he smirked and said “sorry”. That is all. When we asked to see the manager, he stated the manager had left hours ago. NEVER AGAIN!

I had the Prime rib special. The “Prime Rib” was very overcooked, I ordered medium, it came out VERY well and dry, the horseradish sauce was it’s only saving grace. The mashed potatoes were thin and the gravy was insanely salty. Iced tea tasted like it had been sitting in a plastic jug for weeks.
