We ordered a wide range of dishes and ate from each other’s plates so we could taste a bit of everything! Between starters and entrees we had the Argentinian provoleta (good), Crab samosas (DELICIOUS!!), Singaporean soft shell chili crab (very good), Crispy pork belly in pasilla sauce (great texture profile), Caribbean braised oxtails (fall off the bone yummy!), Nigerian Surya skewers (a definite MUST!), Jungle curry (good). Pretty sure we ordered more but these were the only ones I managed to take pics of.
They have a pretty good drink menu as well. We did get an Old Fashioned flight and a Margarita flight along with other individual cocktails that were all pretty good!
The servers were attentive and pleasant and this place has a very vibrant vibe. The only downside to seating a large group at a rectangular table is that one end of the table doesn’t get to hear or participate in the conversations at the table and those in the middle have to convey messages and jokes to both ends of the table. A round table would fix this easily but they don’t have one.
Parking can be a bit hard to find on the street, but they do have complimentary valet parking.
All in all- this place is a definite ‘will come again!’
While the adobe snapper was just ok to me, the yucca fritter it came with was outstanding and could have been a dish on its own. The oxtails tasted of Indian influence way more than Caribbean but still got ate.
Overall the good food was REALLY GOOD while the two I mentioned above were ok but by no means bad. I’ll absolutely return to try more items.
Oh and my waiter Giovani was outstanding. He was on point, kind and amazing at his recommendations. We wanted help getting to Nigerian suya from Mexican oysters and he truly took us on a journey that made sense for our palates. 10/10 experience!
Unfortunately I didn’t realize they were going to mix the pasta dish at the table – so I was late to record that.
Traveler’s Table is always a delightful dining experience.
The service was relaxed yet totally on point. They took care of everything perfectly but without stress or drama – which adds so much to the pleasure of the dining experience.
Service and atmosphere:
This is very popular restaurant for a reason. Great location, complementary valet, stylish and inviting interiors, indoor and outdoor dining options.
Service was excellent.
Food and drinks:
Fantastic choices on both fronts.
Well designed menu offers food choices by regions so you can find dishes from different and familiar cuisines.
The food we ordered was prepared with hearty ingredients that paired very well to complete the dish.
All dishes were seasoned and balanced right enhancing the flavours. What a joy!
Do try their signature cocktails as well as domestic and foreign wines.
Pricing:
$$$ without regrets and super worth it.
Started with three apps. First was Hawaiian Mochiko Chicken which was fine, fried chicken, but the sauce was delish. Next, the Japanese Kaki Fried Oysters which were pretty tasty, not fishy at all! Third was the Salmon Tartare which was my favorite. So fresh and delicious, a fun small perfect bite.
For the main I got Nigerian Suya Skewers which were fireeee. So tender and had a great marinade / spice to it. The two sauces on the side were equally as fire.
For dessert we split the Black Sesame Lava Cake with Ube Ice Cream and this was so yum. Warm, gooey, not overly rich and the ice cream was divine.
I also had a Thai Me Up cocktail which was basically alcoholic thai tea aka made for me and it was too good. Then we split a margarita flight which included The Plumed Serpent, Tranquilo es Mio, and Happy Wife Happy Life. I thought they were all fine.
The service was fantastic and we were able to be seated immediately. Parking is a bit tricky so definitely look for street parking or Uber. We’ll definitely come back.
I recommend the Suya skewers with jolof rice. The crab samosas were also a delight. Thanks to Oscar R for providing a top tier experience.
