Went here for New Years Eve and we were excited for an incredible dinner experience. It was not what we were expecting. We are huge foodies and have dined at many restaurants all over. We had high expectations with all of the amazing reviews! The good! Overall the white pizza was good, the drinks, and our dessert the bon bon was great! What was lacking, the hostess was not friendly the minute we walked in, the rushing through our meal, the service, our waitress had way too many tables, and our main meal. My salmon was literally some of the worst salmon I have ever had! So salty, and so over cooked! It was horrible! My husband had the chicken and it was even as bad as mine. So over cooked, salty, and the sauces were just not there in taste. Overall we will not be back, for the money it’s not worth it! There are so many other amazing options in Traverse City! Save your money and time and go else where!

Great experience! Me and my partner went, we in total tried 7 things from the menu and they were all delicious!! Me and my partner only remembered to photograph the tiramisu, because how can you not lol. Service was wonderful, generally great experience all around, much love!

We hadn’t been to Stella in quite awhile – it was always very good when we went and we were very glad that they have maintained that level of service and quality for at least the 20 years we’ve been going!!
The food was outstanding, service was great (thanks Anna!) and we had a great time for our 20 year wedding anniversary. Got a few pics, but started eating most times before I remembered to take them!
You can be sure though that whatever you decide on, it will be a great experience.

It was a nice experience and the staff was lovely. We are well traveled internationally and were in town on vacation when we dined here. It is very good and deserves its fine reputation. Yet 3 stars because I believe the prices are simply too high for the offering and out of alignment with market standards. Ravioli for $50? Really? Yet, we had a lovely dinner here. Our meal for three people (one child) and only 1 adult drinking alcohol-a beer and modest glass of wine) was $200. I believe that’s quite a premium for location and accommodations – simply too high for the offering.
There is a lot of competition at this price point. At this level, I believe it needs to offer a waterfront view. I am happy that we went here though. My wife and daughter had a great time. I believe this review is fair.

Menu prepared and printed daily as they decide what to prepare. Many interesting choices. The ravioli was very good. The white pizza needed some spice, it was a bit bland. Lots of interesting drink choices. A bit pricey but to be expected in this type of restaurant.

We had an absolutely amazing early dinner here! We went at 5, right when they opened and it was already fairly busy, definitely reserve a table! We were a group of 7 so we got this lovely large table in the back, it was quite and perfect for 2 young kids.
Everyone loved everything! The Raspberry Beret Cocktail was great. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious and the server was very attentive.
Highly recommend and while they do not have it on the main menu, there are some kids menu options the server will tell you about.

We made reservations for my birthday/ restaurant week and arrived about 10 minutes early, yet we weren’t seated until approximately 15-20 minutes after our reservation time. At that point, it felt like there was little purpose in making a reservation. I’m not sure if reservations are overbooked or if there are management issues with pacing in the kitchen, but overall the service was poorly executed and not timely.
Because we were already running behind schedule for another event, I specifically asked our server if we would still have enough time to dine and make it on time. She assured us we would. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Not being seated at our reserved time was the first red flag, and the lack of transparency from the host and servers about actual wait times only added to the frustration. Overall our server was awesome and tried her best with what she was working with.
The food itself was just okay, especially for the price point. My wife’s dish arrived barely warm, and my lasagna seemed dry and bland, as though it had been sitting in a warmer for quite some time. The Old Fashioned was also disappointing a very small pour for the price and served with standard ice rather than a proper craft cube. In a city where you can get larger, better-crafted Old Fashioneds for the same price or less, this fell short.
Overall, we were excited to try this restaurant but left feeling let down in several ways. There are several downtown spots we would recommend instead for better service and food quality. The highlight of our visit was the bottle of wine we purchased unfortunately, that was the best part of the evening.

My partner and I went here for a super nice dinner to celebrate the nice relaxing weekend we had just had, and let me tell you… we couldn’t have picked a better spot. The atmosphere was amazing and cozy, our waitress was PHENOMENAL and the food and wine were beyond delicious. It was the perfect way to end our little getaway!!

The service and food both far exceeded our expectations. A phenomenal meal is almost an understatement. The steak was so perfectly cooked and tender. The flavor was out of this world! The ravioli was to die for. The bread that comes out with the oil in the beginning was so soft, so warm, very enjoyable and the desserts were a dream come true!

I went to this restaurant for an anniversary dinner. My boyfriend made us reservations so it was a breeze getting in. For us this was fancy. Most people that were here were dressed up a bit more. We did the same because we were celebrating. Farm fresh food with amazing options. I got the Atlantic Lemon Sole and my boyfriend got the fettuccine with meatballs. They were big portions as well as big flavor. I love, loved it. Our meals alone were around 40-45 dollars each and that was not with drinks. So if you go here know you are paying more but I promise the food was worth it. The waitress we had was very informative and helped me pick out a red wine that was delightful. The glass of wine was $28. This is not a place I would be a regular at because of the price. But for celebrating, I would one hundred percent come back to try more.
There were a lot of kids here so you can definitely bring your kids. The entire staff that we dealt with were so friendly.
