We’ve spent most of the week here trying to find a actual family run traditional restaurant and Trattoria Gigi did not disappoint. Food was 10/10. So friendly & cute. We’ve rebooked for the next night we loved it so much.

The food came very hot and cooked well. The pasta was too dense for me. The meal was 97 euros at lunchtime which I felt was high for what we got. But the service was very friendly and professional.

We absolutely loved our dinner experience at Trattoria Gigi. Family owned, the father & sons run the front of house and are warm, receptive and take the time to make your visit special. I had THE BEST steak of my LIFE here and I’ve spent too much time daydreaming of coming back to have it again. Don’t even get me started on their bread. I’m not one to usually eat the table bread, but we were extra hungry so I grabbed a piece and WOW. I’m not joking, the bread was absolutely delicious and obviously freshly made we quickly devoured every piece. I asked them to serve me whatever red wine they recommended, it was fantastic, and the ambiance was romantic intimate and just perfect. Loved that it was farther away from the touristy areas so you know you’re getting quality & authentic food and it wasn’t as busy (we loved our stay at the nearby Hotel David and they had recommended this restaurant). We cannot wait to visit Florence again and hope to come back to Trattoria Gigi!

We ate at Gigi’s after a long evening walking the Piazza Michelangelo. We were too busy enjoying the food to take photos. Wild Boar ravioli and Carbonara were both delicious. And the tiramisu was divine. Every one was so kind and the service was fantastic!

My husband and I recently visited Trattoria Gigi for dinner. The atmosphere is authentic. The food is extraordinary. Service is impeccable. Be aware you need reservations. We were very lucky to get reservations for the same evening.
The servers were attentive and courteous. We ordered their house cabernet, a salad, carbonara, and steak filet with truffles. The carbonara was excellent. It wasn’t pasty like some can be. The best I experienced. My husband’s steak was cooked to perfection. Definitely beefy with a truffle crust. He finished every bite. The chocolate truffle for dessert was to die for.
This restaurant is a MUST for anyone visiting the area. You may arrive as a customer, but you leave like family. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is where you’re going to get a truly neighborhood vibe. The locals eat here!! And if authenticity of food, quality/freshness of ingredients, and excellent service is important to you then please trust my review. I’ll be returning before I go back to Panama.

What a lovely reception from the Trattoria Gigi restaurant family last night. I had recently posted a 5 ⭐️ review and mentioned that I would return prior to leaving Florence. I am a woman of my word!
I had fresh ravioli with fresh truffle and parmigiano for dinner. The ravioli was perfectly cooked al dente and exquisitely sauced. The truffle and parm took the dish to another level. The sorbetto limone I had for dessert was a great palate cleanser after such a rich meal. Delizioso!

We came here our first night and were in love. So much so, that we came here our final night in Florence as well! It has such an amazing vibe, so cozy. The food is FANTASTIC!!!
I highly recommend ending your meal with the lemon sorbet.
