I drove 35 minutes to take my family to Smiking Moose. Awesome place. BARTENDER so nice and definitely has us coming back again!! The food speaks for itself. They have pool and a beautiful outdoor hangout. Thank you Smiling Moose!!

Every year we pick a place on the map for Thanksgiving. 2025 had us in Manitowoc, WI and we stumbled upon the Smiling Moose for Thanksgiving dinner.
The food was all homemade and amazing. For $21 we left stuffed. The place had a great vibe to it, and we enjoyed our experience!
Definitely stop in and grab a drink. If you are here over Thanksgiving, give it a shot. Your stomach will leave happy.

My husband and I stopped by on our road trip to pick up a truck. The menu was full of options! Maybe if I picked something else, it would have been better. The food was kind of bland, and everything was separate prices. So the drink (purchase each can separately), the side was a separate price from the sandwich.. Honestly, the price of the food wasn’t bad, though.
I ordered the steak sandwich (which came plain, so I added cheese, sautéed onions, and sautéed mushrooms). It didn’t taste like the meat was seasoned, and it was very chewy. The bun was too big for the meat. However, the bun was soft delicious.
I ordered fried mushrooms. They were luke warm on the outside, and the mushrooms were cold on the inside.
I ordered onion rings. They were doughy on the inside.
My husband ordered a beer gut burger. He said that the sausage patty overpowered the taste of the burger, but it was ok.
He ordered the loaded mashed potatoes. He said they needed salt and pepper but were delicious.
And he ordered the curly fries. Other than getting the tiny pieces at the bottom of the bag, they were delicious!
This place looks like it is probably a pretty fun place to go to on a weekend or during an event like karaoke night. I would definitely go back to try out some of their other dishes, like Blue Gill on Fish Friday or .50 wing night on Thursday nights. Just keep in mind those items are on specific nights ONLY!
They also sell farm fresh chicken and duck eggs as well as local raw honey! (I bought a quart of that..love me some honey!)
The parking is a little tricky here.. I couldn’t quite figure out where I was supposed to park.. But it looks like there are 3 areas. One of those areas does pull through. So as long as cars aren’t parked there an RV or semi could pull in and park.

Totally delicious food and a large menu! We’ve been here for breakfast(awesome)lunch(amazing) and dinner(phenomenal) service is bar-none great. Can be slow when they are swamped but who can’t? Great place with a lot of history catering is top of the line as well. And the owner is a local legend with her generosity! 5 stars all the way.

Definitely enjoyed the Friday fish fry! Wife had the haddock!I had the platter, The bar is spotlessly clean! Service spot on, but not getting a smile from the bartender? Owner? Unsure, but she’s not personable but past that, food, was spot on definitely coming back for a burger!

This is a Wisconsin casual bar/restaurant with lots of interesting signs and bar antiques. Lots of atmosphere! Food was excellent, drinks reasonably priced. Service excellent. I had the triple burger, two beef patties and one pork patty. Fries and cheese curds were really good. There was an interesting band playing outside on the stage.

I saw this place on TV. They were hyping the upcoming Outhouse races, so I checked Google, and the food looked good, and the reviews were mostly positive. I was on a cheezborger road trip with a buddy and I mentioned Osman. He instantly mentioned the Smiling Moose so of we went.
My burger-brat thing was far bigger than the piece of slate it was served on so it was very messy to eat but it tasted great. Nice efficient bar tender/cook/waitress. I’m going back for the Foot long hot dogs.
