Very quaint and casual with really great traditional Italian food. Service was incredible. Always good to start the meal with delicious wine and fresh bread served with high quality olive oil. Each of us ordered a different pasta dish and everything was great. The lobster ravioli and traditional spaghetti were highlights!

We chose this restaurant because of the convenient location to the theater and the patio. Don’t make this mistake if you want a quality meal. Service was quite slow… the $15 calamari was only about 1 serving (small). it wasn’t warm and it was rubbery. We had to ask for lemon. We shared a rigatoni dish that was pretty tasty. I asked for a side of meatballs. I got a single 1.25″ meatball for $5 that had been microwaved. it was solid and chewy. i questioned it and was told that was the way it is. Don’t order the Italian Margarita. it is not great at all. Disappointing for a rare dinner outing.

Delicious food, but extremely pricy. I had the Capellini Pomodoro with meatballs which was a generous portion of pasta but the meatballs were quite small and cost $10 extra making my dish $33 total. Others in my group felt their portions were quite small (and not much cheaper), but also pretty good. I had a great cocktail, the ambiance was lovely and the service was good. A nice place for a special occasion you’re ready to shell out for, but not a place I will be able visit frequently. My partner who has celiac disease had no cross contamination issues with the pasta and salad he got, but he said, for the price, the pasta wasn’t worth it.

Went there for dinner with old friends before a play at Steppenwolf Theater. So convenient and satisfying with major parking in the same block.

For the most part I enjoyed my time here, but probably would not go back. We had a reservation for 5 and were seated at a table for 5. Unfortunately, one person couldn’t make it so we only had 4 people at this table for 5. While we were seated, the manager came around and asked where the 5th person was. We explained that one person couldn’t make it at the last minute. He seemed irritated and said under his breath that he was going to move us to another table (that sat 4). Mind you, we were already eating at this point. It felt incredibly rude (although I do realize we should have alerted them sooner so that we could be at a more appropriate table). It made for an incredibly awkward dinner.

Food is ok, but portions are small, service is average.. waiters are tired and confused. Long wait before you get served.

Wow….so delicious. Best spinach ravioli I ever had. Everyone loved their choices. Friends had lamb meatballs, shrimp and scallop linguini, spinach and sausage shells. A little pricey but so worth it. They have valet parking. Friendly service.

Watered down drinks (which you have to wait forever for). Have to order whole meal at the same time – can’t order apps and then wait. Pasta and sauce have zero taste – stuff out of a can from Mariano’s is better! The basil pasta topping was shredded like from a bag from the corner grocery store. And they have a 3% CC processing fee so pay cash … not to mention I’m still hungry and the portions are small. Don’t get the calamari or any apps. Actually … just go elsewhere!

One of the original Italian restaurants in Chicago that shouldn’t be overlooked! A truly culinary adventure through Italy. Every dish was better than the next and so different but delicious. My personal favorite was the squash ravioli, squid ink pasta and the calamari.

Went here mid May 2022. Avoid, so many better places that deserve your business. We had been here a couple of times, and Went there on a nice Saturday and sat outside, there were 6 of us. Plenty of empty tables both inside and outside for the duration of our stay. Spent over $700 with tip ***for 6 people*** and the manager had the nerve to say to one of our party when he went to the restroom that he should be charging us rent for how long we’ve been sitting at the table. Wth. We were there from 6 – 10 pm but spent well over $100 per person. Again, there were plenty of empty tables while we were there so we weren’t keeping anyone from turning a table. And frankly, the food was pretty bad. Photo of flavorless tagliatelle bolognese. I literally threw my leftovers out, and I never do that.
