Food is delicious and fair for its price. The waiting time is quick reasonable for the quantity I have ordered. I’ve been here twice and will definitely be back again. The beef stew has many big beef slices which are soft and tasty. The soft shell crab is good and easy to chew. The lunch special I have ordered which is beef with some veggies did not disappoint. Come and try their restaurant for yourself. 🙂

Ordered takeaway: spring rolls, grilled pork with rice & broken rice with pork ribs. The rice dishes were quite flavourful, though fairly typical of Vietnamese fare. The spring rolls had an unusual sour taste. The Vietnamese coffee flan was a sweet, creamy treat. Service was prompt.

Tried Tran Tran in Richmond and ordered the pho and the vermicelli grilled pork with spring rolls. The pho was good but the portion was a bit smaller compared to other spots. The vermicelli dish, though, was really fresh, full of flavour, and came in a generous portion. Cutlery and plates were a little dirty, so I’d just double-check that next time, but overall it’s a great local spot for a casual feed.

I was really hopeful for a solid meal however it was one of the most disappointing vermicelli bowls I’ve ever had. Pork was clearly deep fried despite the description of grilled pork. Bowl was oily and flavourless. Service and atmosphere were good, but tables were quite close together and server had difficulty getting to my table.

Presently our local cheap and cheerful Vietnamese, and very happy to have found it. Best satay in the area by far with a good bite of chilli – get it as an entree or as a main and you won’t be upset. Stick to the classics here – beef with chilli, garlic and veggies, san choi bao, Hanoi spring rolls etc. and you can’t go too far wrong. Went off piste and tried the Singapore noodles and grandma’s beef and it was just so-so for us, but we also aren’t sure we received the right meals. Seems to have recently changed hands so new staff and have had a couple of teething issues with service & orders, but still a very good option if you’re local.

Food is ok, not sure it is authentic, but it tasted alright. Service ok. Prices reasonable. BYO accepted. The bathrooms are smelly and filthy, not well kept. I hope the kitchen is in a better state.
