I ate lunch at Trails End today. They had a special for veterans a free burger, fries and drink. It was great, fries hot and crispy and the burger was large. I was only able to eat half of the burgers and fries so I got 2 meals today. Thank you Trails end for honoring the veterans. I do appreciate it.

Absolutely outstanding food and service. This restaurant has quickly become a favorite. From the fantastic service from Tawny to their truly delicious food it’s a must go to place. The Chili is super spicy and filled with enough flavor to satisfy a heat loving teenager. The Sandwiches are stacked. My boyfriend’s grilled cheese was oozing with cheddar. I had a Reuben that had an entire pound of fresh cooked corn beef with Swiss cheese and thick rye bread served with batter dipped french fries. Truthfully you should try it if you haven’t.

Trails End Restaurant & Pizzeria truly exceeded our expectations in every way. From the generous portions to the outstanding service, the entire experience was exceptional.

The food was phenomenal. My dad ordered the Reuben, and the meat was piled high and overflowing onto the plate — easily enough for two meals. I ordered the burger, which was incredibly juicy, moist, and full of flavor. My daughter chose a personal pizza and loved it, noting the great flavor and perfectly thick crust.

We also tried their breadsticks (not sure of the exact name), and they were hands down the best we have ever had — light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor.

The service was equally impressive. The staff was extremely friendly, and the owner stopped by multiple times to greet us and check on our experience, which added a personal touch. Angie was a phenomenal waitress and took excellent care of our table. Despite our large party of ten, all of our food arrived promptly and hot, with nothing sitting or waiting.

The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. The dining area was spacious, welcoming, and exceptionally clean.

This business clearly takes pride in treating its guests well. We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend Trails End Restaurant & Pizzeria.

Had a great time. Sadie has great customer service. Polite, funny, and always smiling. The food was excellent. I couldn’t come up with a complaint no matter how hard I tried. When we were halfway through a meal Dan came out to ask how everything was. I think he cooked the meal but I’m not positive. All I can say is the steak that I had was so perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Then I found out that Dan is actually the boss. You don’t get that very often anymore. The owner / boss/cook coming out to see how everything is. I know they do that in big restaurants The managers but I don’t feel like they listen Dan definitely listened. I really just can’t say enough about this place. I live in Lake which is about 40 minutes from here but I will definitely go back. Thank you trails end for making a memorable experience at your restaurant.

WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE!
They promised a 45-minute to-go pickup. After 50 painful minutes, we arrived—only to be told our food wasn’t ready. Then, we waited another 40 excruciating minutes. That’s 1 hour and 30 minutes for take-out, not dine-in. This disastrous service isn’t just a one-off: one Yelp reviewer also waited 1 hour and 20 minutes—and still didn’t get their salad. Clearly, Trails End can’t manage even the simplest orders.

Food That Should Be a Crime

•The “lake perch” was over battered and rubbery, a soggy mess that tasted like refuse.
•The grilled chicken salad? Slimy again — and I literally watched the lady throw my side salad together with her bare hands, no gloves in sight.
•Potato skins? Ice cold, burnt to a crisp. As if plucked from the freezer and torched.

I waited tables for ten years — I know exactly what good food and service should look like, and this was outright negligence.

Final Verdict (and Warning to All)

Avoid this place at all costs. If the food takes ages for takeout, heaven help you if you dine in. The cuisine isn’t just underwhelming—it’s offensively bad, texturally vile, and a health code violation in spirit. Don’t let the rustic décor or menu praise fool you: the only thing “end” worthy at Trails End is your appetite.

In summary: abysmal service, revolting dishes, avoid like the plague.

This place’s cod dinner is truly all you can eat! The very friendly staff continued to come around with hot fresh cod asking if you want more! You don’t have to ask like you do at some places. The cod was cooked perfectly, and for a more than reasonable price. If you want a great Friday fish fry, this is the place!

Would highly recommend. We had a party of 10 and the food came out together and all fresh! The owner took the time to visit the table to check in and see how the food was. The staff was extremely friendly. The place was inviting, roomy, and clean. Did I say how amazing the food was? We will be back!

I don’t leave reviews often. But after our experience tonight I had to share. We were running behind so made it in at 8:20 and they closed at 9. We were greeted very warmly and kindly even given the time. The twisty bread is AMAZING and priced extremely reasonable. We also ordered pizza and the broiled chicken. The food here is absolutely amazing. We try to eat here at least a few times a month or whenever we are up here. I eat a lot of pizza all over the state and this def ranks with in the top. The waitress was very kind and paid special attention to my daughters. Was on top of refills and made sure we needed nothing. A gentleman came from the back and surprised my 3 and 4 year old with full sized stuffed animals and completely made their night and then thanked us for our business and for coming in. In all the times our family has came here we have never once had bad service or bad food. That is a rarity nowadays. I highly highly recommend this establishment and only wished they were closer to home!! Keep up the great work!!!!

Many times I’ve gone to the Trails End Restaurant and Pizzaria, and impressed everytime. My son and daughter in-law even had their after wedding meal there. Everything there is really good. The menu is classic American comfort food, but with some fun twists. The Cowabunga Fries are the standout—crispy golden fries piled high with tender brisket and drizzled with their Daytona Sauce. The sauce is hard to describe—kind of smoky, a little tangy, and just plain addictive. It ties everything together and makes the dish unforgettable. The portions are generous without being over the top, and everything tastes fresh. The staff is friendly and attentive. It’s the kind of place that feels laid-back and welcoming, where you can relax and enjoy a meal without rushing. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to, over and over and over. . . . . Lol!
