Founded in 1959 by Joe’s uncle MiMi, the Track Shack features traditional Springfield tavern fare like horseshoes and chilli, plus Italian favorites including Onofrio’s Classic Sauces and homemade Italian Sausage, Italian Beef, and meatballs. Joe prides himself on his nightly specials – Thursday’s Fried Chicken and Friday’s Walleye and Whole Catfish. The restaurant is open Mon, Tues, and Wed 11:00 – 2:00 and Thurs and Fri 11:00 – 9:00. The tavern featuring a back bar from the 1904 St Louis World’s fair is open Mon through Fri 9:30 – 1:00 am and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 – 1:00 am.
