Staff is very friendly and attentive. The space is clean and cozy
They have a good variety of pastries but even around 9am, there were still empty shelves because pastries were being brought out. We went with 4 different items plus a couple drinks.
The assam milk tea has a nice unique flavor but there’s so much syrup/sugar used that it sinks to the bottom so when you’re at about a quarter cup left it’s not even drinkable.
The croquette was crispy but so greasy, my fingers were coated in grease. The filling inside too was mushy and fatty.
The Croque Monsieur was good, it was super crispy on the edges and nicely toasted.
The croissant was crispy but kinda bland and dry.
And the bossam pastry (if I remember the name right) was so doughy with a super sugary topping. I took one bite and tossed it.
I don’t mind trying other pastries on a future visit but so far there isn’t much to go off of.
There are consistently many empty sections in the bread display, which makes it hard to purchase a variety of items. Considering the store is open until 9 PM, it’s disappointing to see so many shelves already empty in the middle of the afternoon. It would be great if popular items could be restocked more promptly.
I also wonder whether the staff actively checks the displays and refills items when they notice they’re running low. Most of the breads I wanted were unavailable, so I ended up picking a few random items instead, which was a bit disappointing overall.
That said, the cakes have been consistently good every time I’ve purchased them, and I’m always satisfied with their taste.
The apple pie was good, and the cream cheese bread (I forgot the exact name) was also really enjoyable. The donut was a bit too sweet for me, probably because of the sugar coating. But the Portuguese egg tart was definitely a highlight. It had a nice balance and a good texture.
For the drinks, I wish the ube and matcha lattes were a little less sweet. The sweetness was a bit strong for my taste, and I would have loved for the ube flavor to stand out more.
Overall, I still enjoyed the visit. I am looking forward to coming back and trying the cakes, especially since my friend recommended this café. I feel like there is more on the menu worth exploring.
