My husband and I enjoyed our first dining experience at Tougen. The service was excellent, the dining room very clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. Wait time was minimal. Our meal was just under $50 and included 2 appetizers (tuna tataki and edamame), chicken hibachi, and vegetable hibachi. We each chose fried rice and added miso soup and ginger house salad to our main course. I had a soda and my husband had a tea. The food was fresh and delicious. Servings were standard size and I had enough hibachi to take leftovers home. We plan to return to Tougen as the experience was wonderful.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch, this was our first time there.
Logan was our server. He answered all of our questions. We ordered the crab sushi roll. It was good.
We both ordered the shrimp hibachi with the fried rice. Very good. Portions are good. We both had leftovers.

Very good fruit and milk teas, top notch drunken shrimp roll, and decent ramen and cheesecake. Service very cordial and prompt. Definitely worthy of being a regular go to place.

The Ramen is so good! I loved the char on the meat, and the broth with the chili oil was perfection. I ordered with extra meat and egg. The cucumber salad with shrimp was refreshing. The Fried Calamari was a little tough for me, but to be fair, I tried it hours later after air frying, but it was still tasty. I’m thinking of ordering more Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen already. Oh, and I really appreciate when businesses staple/ secure the food orders for deliveries.

There is a small amount of tables with some bar seating as well. Service is somewhat slow even when there are few people in the restaurant. The meat is generally low to medium quality, while all the food is pretty much completely unseasoned.

Ordered the Fried Garlic Shio Ramen and the Fried Onion Shio Ramen both with chicken. It was very good ramen and the broth was very delicious. Added a little of the chili sauce to spice it up. Also the Thai Iced Coffee was amazing. Very flavorful and rich. Definitely worth it and would go back.

Very delicious Japanese Cuisine in the Toledo, Ohio Area! The quality of food stands next to the great quality people that make it. Sushi and Hibachi are very good. The place is small and doesn’t look as much, but I can assure you that this establishment packs a punch in flavor!

Delicious ramen… The pork broth is out of this world! Can’t wait to come back and try the sushi. The black pepper tuna was fresh and so yummy.

The food was fair.
The service was a little slow, and at first, we were the only table. My water was not refilled during our time there and I had received my Kani salad after everyone else had their appetizer and meal. The timing was a little strange.
The atmosphere did throw me off a little when I walked in. The place was rated well, and the food pictures looked great, but I was not expecting a hole in the wall cafe vibe.
Overall, I would give it another go and would probably try the hibachi dish. Note: There are no actual hibachi to sit at.

I liked the chicken broth ramen quite alot, and always love crunchy chicken tempura. I wish the chicken tempura could be ordered as just an appetizer instead of a whole entree, but now I have leftovers. The ginger dressing on the salad was kinda weird, but I ate most of it.
