FYI take out only. Coming from someone who used to work at fast Chinese food, I didn’t think teriyaki sauce could be any better but it is. The sauce is very umami with a hint of sweet. Even the spicy sauce is a nice touch, a really good sambal basically. I would drive an hour to get my teriyaki fix. Chicken katsu was also very flavorful!

The G.O.A.T. of teriyaki in the greater Seattle area. No-nonsense menu. Meats are always tender and the sauce is so good, not sickeningly sweet like some other places I’ve tried. Chicken is obviously the classic choice but honestly I think the beef might be even better!
Takeout only.

I have been a fan of Toshi’s for decades – I now live in AZ and was surprised I didn’t know that the original Toshis is in Mill Creek. Limited hours and take out only is okay as long as you know it. I called my order in and it was as delicious as I remembered!

The absolute OG of Teriyaki. Toshi to me is a local legend and I’ve been meaning to try out his Teriyaki for a while now. I’ve had teriyaki all over the Seattle area the last couple of years, and his is by far my favorite. The sauce is not overbearingly sweet, the char on the chicken is incredible, and it’s clearly freshly cooked, not just sitting in a hotel pan waiting to be reheated. The rice is also some of the best I’ve had from a teriyaki spot. Perfectly cooked chicken, perfectly cooked rice. Just can’t get much better than that. Only con is that there’s no indoor seating so you’ll need to take it to go or eat outside, but not a knock against them at all. I think it’s incredible that we can still get teriyaki from the originator of teriyaki as know it, and I was surprised that they were not nearly as busy as I expected. Can’t recommend Toshi’s enough!

Super nice lady working and taking orders and the menu was limited to a few items which I kind of liked. Even though the teriyaki had good grill taste it lacked flavor. Didn’t really get enough rice either. Egg rolls are decent but the pricing on everything is very affordable. More of a 3.5 stars.

Toshi is a legend! We trekked up from Seattle and it was well worth it! Everything was excellent and the beef was even better than expected. Chicken was so moist and smokey. The spice level was perfect

Birthplace of Seattle style teriyaki. I love the char in the bits of chicken and the sauce is delicious. Staff are very friendly. Take out only.

It’s good. A little truer to Japanese Teriyaki than I’m accustomed to. Was super excited to find out the original cook that started Toshi’s was cooking at the Mill Creek location and took the first opportunity I had to try it. Tried the original chicken. Got there a little after 6 and was the last order of the day they were out of food and closed right after me. The chicken is excellent great flavor and not over cooked. The charcoal grilling gave it a nice smokey flavor I liked but my wife thought it was overly smokey. They do a cabbage slaw instead of a simple salad, it’s was good. The sauce is thinner than most but great flavor. Definitely want to try more of the menu, the food was well executed but wasn’t better than many other places.

Toshi’s Teriyaki is overall solid. Theres nothing extravagant or special, but it tastes good and the prices are affordable. Which is all I really expect out of ordering Teriyaki.
The portion size while being a bit smaller than other places, is actually just enough for me to eat through in one sitting. If you’re looking for a quick bite of Teriyaki that tastes good, I recommend Toshi’s.

Very good food! The wait took a bit long (we ordered at the counter and it took ~35 mins) but well worth it. Teriyaki combo was tasty but the Katsu was even better! Will def be coming back again
