I’ve eaten from El Jefe several times during events at my son’s school. Buns are soft, franks are nicely cooked, and toppings are great. $8 might feel steep for a hot dog, but these are filling and well-made.

What the flying Jefe? These wieners are bomb. Probably in my top 5. A sweet set up that caters to all those munchie needs. It was just one of those nights when you’re from out of town and you’re craving a hot dog. You find a place and drive to the area only to find out it’s a strip of bars/ clubs full of college students. It sucked and was congested especially with construction, but that didn’t deter me, I was on a mission. Finally arriving there, was a small line, I patiently waited and the simplicity in their menu was pleasantly surprising. The menu isn’t large but oh boy was it delicious. El Jefe all the way. My toppings are basic but jumping on this new hot dog try, I was happily satisfied and the staff is friendly! Would come here every time I am in the city, no hesitation. I’m still fixated on the wieners so maybe next time I will try a burger. There’s a decent amount of parking but I wouldn’t recommend coming here at night on a weekend because it might be a bit of a struggle, but if you’re out anyway, go for it!

Got The French. Place is very good. I would give a 4.5 on the wish there was more seasoning on the sauteed onions. The hotdog was fantastic, it’s a very quality dog and was cooked to perfection. The onions were the perfect satueed consistency that you look for like I said just a little more S&P and would be straight fire. Was a nice sesame seed bun as well. They also have vegan options for dogs (soy based), cheese, and a portobello mushroom for the burger. This is always something I think is great for a business is cater to hit all targets.

Some of the best Hot Dogs in San Antonio. A personal fave spot after some drinks on the strip. Service is always excellent.

Ordered once via food delivery service in 2020 and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Our hotdogs were so delicious, the bread was toasted but still soft and fluffy top tier for sure, must try again soon

Had the mexican hot dog, it had “pico”. They basically just cut tomato, onion, and jalapeño and tossed it on the dog. The “pico” needed minimum salt and lime. It was disappointing to call it Mexican and it did not pass. The chili cheese fries were different than what I am used to but they were pretty good, wish they would of spiced their pico the same as the onions .

9.5/10 on the burgers and service was great.
Buffalo fries 7.8 outta 10 a little soft and soggy which some ppl like, but had just a little too much sauce, was all buffalo no fry
