What a gem of a place! We were passing through the area around lunch time on Saturday and stopped in here for lunch. We were warmly greeted and sat down. Service was quick! I got the lunch special with the teriyaki chicken and the shrimp/veggie tempura. My friends opted to get an assortment of rolls and the udon soup. Everyone was very happy with their options. The fish was fresh and tender. Even a basic tuna roll was good! The ambiance is fun, with a little corner of memorabilia was interesting to look at.

It’s a great place but we were a tad bit underwhelmed with the Karage Chicken and spice Tuna Sushi roll.
Hoenstly the bar was set high by the high ratings on Google and Yelp, otherwise it is a best place.
The karage could have been a little more crispy and the sushi felt like it wasn’t fish-y enough!
The teriyaki was amaaazing – 5 stars
The mango mochi – 5 stars
Tiramisu…i know in a Japanese restaurant…5 stars!

Delicious meal with excellent service and atmosphere. We had a bottle of sake, rolls & sashimi and miso soup. It was a perfect meal. I especially recommend the mackerel and bluefin tuna Thank you for a great meal, we will be back

Had the omakase special. Everything is great: food, service, atmosphere. The chef came out and greeted our table. Great sushi spot in Gardena! The omakase had more than what’s pictured- I tend to forget to take pictures of everything. It was a lot and very delicious. Others had the chirashi combo and the sashimi combo. Parking is a little tough when it’s busy in the plaza, but there are other adjacent lots that “don’t mind” (but mind) if you park there.

As a non Cali resident I really relied on these google reviews to find a good sushi place that wasn’t too out of the way, was in a safe location and that could accommodate myself and two teens (not a bar) and found Toshi!!
Our visit was in July just about a month after their grand opening when you’d assume would be a good amount of time to adjust and work out any business quirks. We loved how welcoming and friendly the server was (used to live in Hawai’i) with recommendations and attentiveness.
Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs but we were not disappointed by the variety of fresh fish, prepared dishes and hot items from takoyaki, grilled steak, katsu, chawanmushi and specials listed on a board. The plate presentation was cute and appetizing and portions were shareable which would be perfect for friends or families like mine. Will definitely return again!!

The sushi is very fresh and the price is right. The customer service is great and the chef Toshi comes out and say hi to everyone! They do have omakase and the cost is $68/$98. I will definitely come again and try different items. One bad thing about this place is the parking! It is hard to find a parking spot during busy hours since it is shared with a ramen place next door.

Nice and cozy place for fresh sushi … the service was great and the food tasted fresh. The salmon carpacio was delicious as well as the nigiri combo… the miso soup was on the house…. enjoy it with a hot house Sake my dear friends…
