The real issue happened when it was time to pay. They are apparently one of the few establishments in 2026 that does not accept tap-to-pay. I went out to my car to check if I had my card or enough cash on me, but I didn’t have either. I came back in and asked the waitress if I could possibly Zelle or Cash App a staff member and have them run their card for me. She said she would ask.
That’s when things escalated.
A woman came out and told me I would need to leave my ID and go get cash. I explained that I didn’t think I had my ID on me. She then said, “Well you need to start getting your shit together next time you’re out,” and began arguing with me. I later found out this was the owner of the restaurant. The interaction was completely unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. Instead of diffusing the situation, she escalated it.
They eventually sent someone else out to speak with me. I calmly explained that I was willing to leave something and go get the money — I just wanted to understand why I couldn’t send money electronically to resolve it quickly. The response I got was, “The easiest way is if you just had your card.” I made it clear I wasn’t trying to argue, just asking a question. She then became argumentative as well and asked me to leave my headphones as collateral. I couldn’t because I was on the phone. I offered to check my car for ID, and she questioned whether I would even come back — despite the fact that I had just gone to my car and returned.
At that point, my integrity was being questioned. I ended up leaving my phone, retrieving my work ID, going to get cash, and returning to pay. The entire situation was completely avoidable. A little professionalism and basic customer service would have made all the difference. Instead, the experience was stressful and unnecessarily confrontational.
I would not recommend dining here. The food isn’t worth the price, time, or treatment. The restaurant is, unfortunately, a reflection of its owner.
Had the Jerked Chicken BLT. Very tasty. The wife had the Shrimp Panini which she said was excellent. She also recommends the Grouper BLT (when available).
The beer was cold, interesting menu and good service. What more could you ask for? I give them 5 stars.
