First time here, I ate the Torta de Chilaquiles verdes & a carne asada torta con todo!
Let me tell you, the Torta de Chilaquiles was just like back when I was a child and my Grandma used to make them! the flavor of the chilaquiles were the real chilaquiles, soft with cheesse, tangy salsa verde with just the right kick of chile (in a scale of 1-10 10 being the hotest this was a 7 hot) , and the Torta (Telera) bread was just the rigth amount of tosted, crunchy, with melted cheese on the bottom every bite was just metting inside you mouth with the salsa berde and the Chilaquiles. Man! I am goming back for another one! the chef recommended next time to add eggs and I was also thinking to add avocado to make it more perfect!!!! They hit is right on the nail! Cesar the owner was super nice. The Chef and the young lady at the cashier were super friendly and with a happy smile! Their customer service was fantastic! It wasn’t very busy at the moment when my wife and I came in yet when we were leaving it started to get busy. The carne asada was very good, it had gritle on the both sides (which made it a bit rubbery) yet the flavor of the meat with the chile jalapeño and the avocado made it just perfect! On more thing the Aguas frescas are made there so when I asked for a jamaica water it tasted just like when my grandma made it. They have just opend recently I wish then the best luck! By the way their menu is full of tortas I want to come back and try. They also offer Smoothis, Juices, Salmon Bagel, ACAI munchies, tostilocos, fresas con crema, choreadas and a few other things for Children too.
Everything was very clean and enjoyable. We needed a restaurant with something as different as Tortas Tj. We are looking forward to coming back and eat a few other plates from the menu!!

Food was really good! Definitely recommend the salchipapas!! The wait was a bit long as it took about 35 minutes for our food to be ready after ordering but the food definitely made up for it 🙂
Edit: this is now my favorite torta place, I’ve gone multiple times and every item I have tried has been amazing 10/10

New spot around here and honestly my favorite for tortas in SD. I live close by and keep coming back. Tried the especial, carne asada, and adobada , all hit, big and filling. Place has plenty of room to chill. Recommend checking out Tortas TJ

Katia Love it!
I have been seeing a few posts about this place and their delicious tortas.
I went today and let me tell you that the tortas and burritos are really good. They have so many choices. I had the CHILAQUILES one. Yes, torta de chila. It reminded me of the ones in Mexico City.

Burritos are also really good. They make their own tortillas.

I will definitely go back!

Great sauces.

Amazing! These Tortas were so good! The fresh salsa was great and the Horchata was delicious.

Definitely going back to try others, we got the Milanesa and Cubana – both were so good.

Best Torta this side of the border!

The tortas are great and that’s my favorite part.
My not so favorite part was the time we waited.
However, the delicious torta made it up for the time that we waited. The milanesa was amazing, fresh, crispy and didn’t taste like old oil. It was 100% worth the wait.
The jalapeños in the torta, the horchata, and please try the salchipapas, amazing!
Will be back for sure.

Can’t speak to service or atmosphere (though from pics, it does look better than I was expecting inside) because our intern picked it up, but I had the Torta Cubana and it was delicious.
Would be even better there, as they wrap them real tight, so they get a little bit steamy/soggy in transport, but not too bad.
Will definitely be going back.
Curious about their Chilaquiles torta… But just sounds like overboard carbs, ha! Tortillas on bread
Smoothie is true to the “TJ” name. Seems like a pretty fair amount of added sugar. More of a dessert than a typical breakfast smoothie.
Boss even liked his milanesa torta, and he’s essentially as picky as they come. Will update after he tries the carne asada. I’ll probably do the salmon next.

It took 20 minutes for my Torta to made WITH NO ONE IN LINE. The food is good but these wait times are unacceptable! I can’t even imagine what a long line’s wait time would be like!
