Service was slow even though it wasn’t busy but the meal was excellent. I’m okay with waiting at a small mom & pop shop. I got the steak fajitas- very tender steak. Portions were large and people were friendly. Loved their use of Spanish throughout the meal (and English of course)!

Toro Viejo, Hayden: “The Old Bull” is a decent Mexican food restaurant in Hayden off Government. They serve up typical Mexican (American) fare. While I did not have anything extraordinary the hot version of their salsa is good. The service is also great which adds to the 4-star rating here.

My wife and I went here for the first time recently and it was great! Honestly I don’t know how it took us so long. We both loved our food. I had a large house margarita as well and that was fantastic! Our server was one of the friendliest we have had in a long time. Overall great and we will definitely be coming back more often.

This is my favorite Mexican food in Hayden, ID.! Very good service and the quality of the dishes are above average. Not as much room for big parties as Rancho. The building looks to be well maintained as well.

Really underwhelmed by this place. Never have I seen a Mexican place with so many bell peppers in every dish. I mean, their rice, refried beens, most sauces etc. not talking about jalapeños, or other types of delicious Mexican peppers. So I ordered a Tostada with carne asada (their crab also had bell peppers), so a small plate arrives with a giant mount of lettuce. I start digging and see glimpses of the steak. The tostada was a soggy mess burried at the bottom. My sister had some black beans which saved my dinner, because otherwise nothing had flavor.

It’s not bad… kinda greasy, alittle watery, could use a bit more flavor… Drinks were good. Good service though, nice staff.

I’ve eaten here since 2009 and they have never disappointed me. The bacon wrapped shrimp with a splash of lemon and a dab of hot sauce is the bomb. The facility is bright clean cozy and the service is always welcoming. So for all your true south of the border flavors visit Toro Viejo. Dine inside or outside weather permitting.

The service was excellent, food was good but not over the top, salsa and chips were complimentary…Smothered burrito had a good flavor. The rice and beans were ok. Had to ask for tortillas.

Really miss the Post Falls location. Service is slipping due to being short staffed. Our last visit our server was stretched very thin. She was very cordial though. Unfortunately the kitchen lost our ticket and after an hour of waiting for our food we left. The waitress was incredibly apologetic so I don’t blame her. I understand things happen, but Toro Viejo you use to be AWESOME….What happened ;(
