I love getting chips and salsa at Mexican restaurants, it’s pretty much the Main thing I look forward to when I get to go out to eat. I don’t get to go out to eat much anymore because of the economy. These chips were old and overcooked. They came out of a warmer drawer and maybe that thing overcooks them. The salsa was just so so but if the chips had been good, I wouldn’t have minded. So we just ate a handful and pushed them to the side. Really made a bad impression and I don’t want to go here anymore. I almost asked if they had fresh ones in the back but I didn’t want to sour the experience and we didn’t have a lot of time.
On the good side, there was no wait. The lady who seated us was nice.
The lady who got us our chips wasn’t very friendly. Our waitress was very nice and quick! I got the Mar y Tierra. The rice and beans were bland but the chicken, steak and vegetable mixture was pretty good, the shrimp were delish! I will say that I’m from the South and I’m spoiled with great flavor and quality. So, I can’t really expect to have it as good up here in the North…but overall, I give it a 3.5.

Service was slow even though it wasn’t busy but the meal was excellent. I’m okay with waiting at a small mom & pop shop. I got the steak fajitas- very tender steak. Portions were large and people were friendly. Loved their use of Spanish throughout the meal (and English of course)!

The waiters were understaffed and very busy but the handled this with efficiently and made sure everyone was taken care of. Highly recommend this restaurant, their food was amazing, service was excellent and the overall experience was delightful. I will be coming back!

Waitress/ bar tender very unfriendly. Margarita pre mixed expensive sour not worth it. 3.95 for just guacamole chips 2.50 extra added on bill Was dark drown and measured at 3 table spoons . Rest of dinner cheese enchiladas hard dried out and tough also dried rice, beans ok rated at about a 1 just. Not good!

This is my favorite Mexican food in Hayden, ID.! Very good service and the quality of the dishes are above average. Not as much room for big parties as Rancho. The building looks to be well maintained as well.

Toro Viejo, Hayden: “The Old Bull” is a decent Mexican food restaurant in Hayden off Government. They serve up typical Mexican (American) fare. While I did not have anything extraordinary the hot version of their salsa is good. The service is also great which adds to the 4-star rating here.

Some really good Mexican Food. I had a combination plate with an enchilada and tostato. Every thing was seasoned and yummy. I will definitely be back. So far out of the 4 Mexican restaurants I’ve tried in Cd’a its the best!
