If you’re looking for authentic Thai food in Brighton and want to support a small local business, I’d really recommend paying them a visit. We’ll definitely be back.
The menu was also gluten free friendly!!
It’s a small place. Hasn’t changed much over the years, which is its charm.
I love the people who own/run Tooktas. Such friendly people and always pop out of the kitchen for a chat and a laugh. Even after all these years they still recognise me, it feels personal and comforting to come here.
Favourite dish is the Massaman with beef. Red Thai is spot on too.
It just makes me happy to come here, and I’m sure most people would agree
The service was just as wonderful. The owner and staff were incredibly welcoming, making it feel like a warm, local gem rather than just a restaurant.
One of the best Thai meals I’ve had in Brighton – highly recommend and will definitely be back!
We went in late November on a Wednesday. I had red Thai curry & my wife had beef Pad Thai with rice noodles as our mains. Thai food is usually reliably good – this was spectacular!
Will be returning!
We are regulars and Tookta is a very amenable and engaging host, always ready to cook to taste and keep her customers happy. The restaurant is cosy and inviting and well worth looking for, just off Western Road. A welcome change from mainly chain restaurants in the area, highly recommended.
We had the spicy prawns and squid to start, which were excellent. The sauce on the prawns was so good we ended up dipping the squid in it too. For mains, we went for one stir fry and one curry, which were both just as good as the starters.
Overall, a great meal. It is a small place, so it does get busy, but that makes for a more intimate experience. Had a nice little chat with the owner afterwards as well. We’ll definitely be back (and already looking forward to it!).
