The Spunky Steer is a hidden jem sitting in a shopping mall between a paint shop and a dollar store.
You’ll find no windows at this local steakhouse, but once you step inside, you won’t give it a second thought.
Although it may seem small, there’s adequate seating. The menu isn’t overly complicated, and while they may have fish tacos and chicken burgers, the focus is on the “steer”.
Food was served hot, prices are fair, and the staff is friendly. If you want a simple and unpretentious steak, you can’t go wrong here.
One thing to note, if you have a large party (8 or more), it does take longer to serve everyone. This is not a complaint, just an observation.

Still love this place food is always cooked exactly how I ordered it. It may be nostalgia, but I have yet to have had a bad experience here. My only thing I find needs improvement is the service they need more waiters and waitresses. I watched mine take care of too many tables and her service was not bad it was great she just didn’t have enough time for everyone.

Our sister loves coming here, so for her birthday she wanted to come here. We’ve never been here before so we said sure why not. Well it sure made an impression since we were ignored by our waitress and a busser is the one who took care of our drinks after 10min of just sitting there. While the other two tables next to us she didn’t even let them sit down first and she was already asking what they wanted to drink. Anyways, I made sure to tip that young man for taking care of us properly. Now this lady’s lack of service and manners isn’t going to change my review of the food, which is actually pretty good. Our sister Loves the zucchini and I can see why, the batter they use is good. I kinda regret not getting the onions rings since their fries weren’t all that great.
I didn’t care to much for the specialty steak, but the rib eye and French dip were good. We weren’t able to try any of their desserts because we were handed the check. My sister was like I guess I’m having a birthday cake somewhere else lol. We took her to Dolce.

My wife and I both had country fried steak with salad and baked potato. Her food was a little on the cool side but they sent it back and made it right. The manager in charge checked back with us and he was super friendly as was our waitress. The place was packed but we were seated within 5 minutes and we were served promptly. Glad they’re open once again after a long shutdown.

My wife has been telling me how great this place was for years. We were finally able to go. It was as good as she said it would be. When we arrived we were promptly seated. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. All of the staff was happy and made us feel very comfortable. When our food arrived it was delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection. The side dishes were perfict. All of the restaurant was very clean, tables, floors even the restrooms. We had a great experience. We will be back again when we are in the area.

I’ve been going here since I was a kid. We almost always get the specialty steak and fried zucchini. Everything I’ve had there has been consistently delicious. I now live out of state and anytime I’m back in town we try to make a point of going there. They are still recovering from the pandemic but seem eager to get back to normal. Patience and flexibility may be needed from patrons. Unfortunately prices have gone up quite a bit but it’s still within a range that I am okay paying for their food.

First off, the food was great, the service was exceptional, and the prices were fair. Now here is something you don’t find everyday…..I left my credit card there by accident while having lunch Saturday, didn’t notice it was missing until Wednesday. I called my credit card company and they said the last transaction was at Tony’s on Saturday, I called and sure enough they found my card and were holding it for me. Honest, friendly, and good food….what more can you ask for.
