So disappointed with the quality of the food. I had high hopes given the high rating, but it’s only given me trust issues now. As an app, we had Caesar salad which tasted so watery and the lettuce was so bruised and pink it was inedible, the Italian wedding soup must have been left on the stove the whole day that the pasta just disintegrated in your mouth in an unpleasant way and tasted like dish water, and the calamari was so underwhelming and dry with very little flavour – we didn’t eat all of our apps.

Now for our main, my partner had the veal parm. He mentioned the veal was good, but the pasta was bland and too sour. I got carbonara, and I swear on my life, this was the worst pasta I’ve ever had. They really screwed up with the carbonara sauce as the egg was separated and looked like vomit. If you can’t make th carbonara sauce, you should not be adding it on the menu. This was absolutely horrible and I can’t believe this is being sold in a redtaurant. There was so much onion, huge chunks of it, and just so salty. The only redeeming thing was I guess they were generous on the bacon. I couldn’t eat it all, felt grossed out and I really tried to eat it!

For the dessert, well I asked for tiramisu but they specifically said “it’s frozen and we didn’t take any out”. We went on a Thursday evening at 6/7pm btw. There were others behind us and I also I overhead how they would not be coming back.

0/10 absolutely do not recommend. If you want panzerrotti, I’d rather check elsewhere even if they are famous for it cuz I don’t even trust them to make decent food.

If you’ve got a hearty appetite, love cheese cheese and more cheese, and are looking for a panzerotti the size of your head, this is the place for you. Tony’s came highly recommended, so we did take out. The panzerotti were substantial, and came with a side container of tomato sauce. The ingredients inside the delicious fried dough were good, (although they use canned mushrooms). The Italian sausage had zing. The sauce was mild. Definitely a place to try for yourself.
UPDATE: Enjoyed a wonderful dine in experience with the amazing server Cheryl. What an interesting place, opened in 1961, and modelled like an Italian grotto. Very cool! Delicious food.

I used to love going to Tony’s growing up, let me say that first. I ordered a panzarotti with mushrooms in it, as well as 2 side of creamy garlic sauce. They used canned mushrooms which made the whole thing completely soggy and tasting of disgusting canned mushrooms. The 2 garlic sauces i received were 2 containers of raw pureed garlic which is inedible and I payed $1.50 each. I tried calling that night to complain but they were closed. I called the next day and told them the situation. There was no manager there that could do anything, they told me to call after 5 today, so I did. No manager of course so I spoke with the head chef, I’m a chef myself might I add. He admitted to using canned mushrooms, couldn’t do anything to help me. Told me to call again tomorrow…. Might I add this order was over $50 and I maybe had 3 bites.
And if you couldn’t tell by now, the chef is not Italian.
Mamma Mia.
You’re better off going to dominoes.
Sorry to Tony’s legacy.

I liked how rich the pizza was with the toppings, how ever the crust was burnt. That’s usually my best part and I couldn’t eat it. It was so hard to chew.

This was my first time ordering from Tony and I don’t think I’ve would be ordering again.

I am not from London, but my mom is. We visit infrequently, but we always make a point to go to Tony’s when we’re in town. The food is delicious, and from what I gather, it hasn’t changed in the decades since my mom left town. The building hasn’t changed either…. 😉
The serving sizes for panzarotti are enormous and priced well. Enjoy a small, or share a medium! I can’t wait to dine here again next time I’m in London.

Another great dinner a Tony’s. I don’t think I have ever raved about a garden salad like I did, so fresh and testy. I totally enjoyed the shrimp and broccoli pasta, and my partner loved her pizza. The pizza is not for the faint-hearted, they are loaded with toppings and covered in mozzarella, sooooo good, with plenty left over to take home.

The place needs a renovation, but who cares because the food is great and the service is perfect! The wings were particularly good, and the pizza is nice and heavy with cheese (but the sauce is a touch mild for my taste). Garlic bread was on what appeared to be sub buns but was super good. Highly recommend Tony’s!!

Omg.
I’m stuffed.
It’s the same every time.
You walk in the door and you step back into a better era.
Greeted with a smile from a friendly person. The food. Oh My God the food!!!!!
A big heaping bowl of Caesar salad and mozzarella garlic bread.
The absolute best linguine Alfredo anywhere. 60 years on this planet and I have never found somebody that does it better. Threw in mushrooms and sausage and tiger shrimp…..
Perfection.
The lady we had serving us …. Arya…. A lovely young lady who Couldn’t have done a better job. And at the end of it all…. As I was walking out into the outer lobby area before you get to the door the man himself is sitting there. A big smile on his face and he said how was dinner folks? I patted my big belly and sighed in satisfaction….. I had no words…. and I just reached out and shook his hand.

I’ve walked through that door 50 times over the years and I am going to walk through it again.

It just doesn’t get better than this folks.

The food here is no good. The pizza crust is dry and stale tasting. Some of the toppings tasted like they were starting to go bad. The sausage topping in particular tasted like it was rotten. The sauce tastes like cheap sauce from a can. The panzarotti is supposed to be the specialty here, but it’s basically a big dough ball filled with way too much low quality cheese and not much else. Absolutely unacceptable food quality.

The decor in the restaurant is straight out of 1970. The restaurant is gloomy inside, very dark and poorly lit. Outside looks run down to the point where I wasn’t sure if the place had gone out of business. It’s decades past the time to update it.

Love Tony’s! My husband and I had lunch there yesterday and it was amazing as always. We shared a small pizza and a medium panzerotti and a small Caesar salad. Sheryl is a great server. She noticed me fading after eating and offered me a delicious cappuccino with a double shot of espresso. Highly recommend 10/10!
