The service was great. The waiter was very attentive, and I enjoyed getting to thank the chef personally.
Definitely want to try the Banana Fritter with Mancha Ice Cream from the sushi side of the menu next time. It looked so good.
The appetizer was missing ingredients and did not taste good. the server gave no indication they could not serve alcohol until the 3rd time they asked if we were ready to order drinks (we were waiting on our last member of the party to order)
The ramen was ok, but the egg was cold. The curry was not the correct thickness, it was not mixed, and made the rice soggy and inedible within the 10 minutes we were eating
2/4 hand rolls had NO FISH and this was a togo item for a sick member at home, which we notified the server about at the start of our meal- they were all falling apart when we received them in plates, and had to box them up ourselves
Now for the restaurant itself-the restaurant reeked of bleach. I am allergic and the smell was so strong, I broke out in hives and had a difficult time breathing by the end of my meal – if that was the sanitizer there is no way it is safe – test your sanitizer!!!
Our server was kind, but did not inform us of the service charge for using a card, the lack of alcohol, the fact sushi could not be packaged to go, and was not attentive to our needs. Overall extremely bad experience and we will continue going to jinya for ramen!!
The tantanmen ramen is especially good but I like to get it with chicken katsu instead of pork belly and ground pork. The katsu curry ramen is another favorite as well as the curry and chicken katsu but be sure to get it with a side of kimchi.
The restaurant itself is a vibe. I love the lighting and murals.
It wasn’t very busy on a Friday evening, which is a shame because this is the best ramen house we have found in the valley.
At least it was quiet and we have never had to wait for a table.
Everything we got tasted wonderful, but he bulgogi fries were my favorite by far.
Clean facilities and friendly service.
Tonkatsu Ramen Bar and Tonkatsu Shabu Shabu are separate but connected on the inside.
Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.
And the Tonkotsu was solid. Great portions, no complaints there, it was alright.
However… The pork belly bun to accompany the soup left a lot to be desired. The bun was… Tough, almost leathery. The bun! How is that possible? And the presentation was lackluster. Could use some QA on the food in that regard.
Other than that, service was good, and although there were limited beverage options, it’s alright. The place looks new and modern too.
