First time visit. Not first time eating Thai food. For a first visit I will say I was very happy with the experience. The location is a far drive for me since it’s on the complete opposite side of town. But after eating here I can say it’s definitely worth it. The dishes we got were all very tasty and piping hot. We had some fried Tofu as an appetizer which was definitely interesting. I had the curry and we ordered two different noodle dishes. I loved the different flavors. You had Thai basil and onions, cilantro, jalapeños. It was all very good and I felt well balanced. The jasmine rice paired with the curry was really simple but fragrant and delicious. There is more than enough seating in this place, so good for small and large groups. Parking is a little weird but it’s not hard to find Parking. Prices are a little steep. But the portion sizes justify them. They’re definitely comparable with other thai restaurants. You’ll be paying between $10-20 per person. Our server, Josh, was incredibly attentive and polite. And the staff in general was all very welcoming. The atmosphere here was very interesting, with inside and outside seating with varied decor. It almost feels like you’re in Thailand in a strange way. But I really enjoyed it. I would very much visit here again.

My husband and I went the other day for dinner and mmm mmm mmmm…let me tell you!!! I’ve been looking for The perfect Lemon Chicken and this place is the only place I’ve been to that exceeded my expectations!! Many places try- many places fall!! I been doing lemon chicken over 20 years… this place killed it. While there, 4 other tables ordered it!!! My husband got Combo Fried Rice which was delicious!! The atmosphere and employees were fabulous!! Will definitely be returning… everything looks so good… PUT WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING DOWN AND GO GIVE THEM A TRY!!

Absolutely delicious, the Thai tea was phenomenal and served in a cute tall glass. The cheese rangoons were yummy, as well as the noodle dishes. I got the Tom Kha with chicken, it is a traditional making of it meaning no added spice- you can taste the coconut cream, undertone spices, etc really well. I didn’t taste lemon grass too much, and I typically get mine as spicy as possible, but here I still loved every sip I took. I haven’t had a traditional tom kha in years, so this was a wonderful surprise. I would bet their curries are delicious. We also are getting the sticky rice and coconut icecream soon, and I’m sure it’ll be amazing. (Also, the rice was in the shape of a heart !! And they packaged our food to go for us.)

Friendly staff, good food, good atmosphere. We liked everything we tried for the most part. The eggplant on the appetizer menu is rather bland and extremely greasy; the only negative I’ve found so far. But overall authentic Thai dishes abound and I plan to return to try others.

Was visiting from out of town and tried this place for lunch. It was really good, with large portions, lots of flavor, and friendly, prompt staff. My only complaint is that I forgot I was in Texas, so when I asked for “spicy Pad Thai,” they didn’t disappoint. Thankfully, the waiter kept my water full.

Went here for the first time after reading such good reviews for the food. Tong’s Thai did not disappoint. We had amazing food and service. Only point I’d like to make is that they automatically added a 20% gratuity for being a party of 7, though four of the 7 were kids. And we didn’t know ahead of time that this would be the case. Otherwise, the prices were reasonable and the serving sizes were ample. And our waiter was also really good. The ambience is also very clean and welcoming.

I freakin love this place!! I haven’t been here in a minute and this was the first time I tried the tom kha gai from here. WOWIEEEE!!!! I’ve had this dish from other Thai restaurants but this is for sure the best I’ve ever had!!!!!! So creamy and flavorful and I got a lot of chicken in my soup 🙂 service was great and I love the atmosphere here. Highly recommend this spot get the darn Tom kha gai u will not regret it!!!!

Tong’s Thai is hands down the best Thai restaurant I’ve tried in Texas — not just in San Antonio. I discovered it through Google and Yelp while traveling, and it truly lives up to all the glowing reviews. The customer service is excellent, and the food quality is outstanding. We ordered six different dishes, and every one of them was full of flavor. I especially recommend the papaya salad and crab fried rice.

First time diners and we love thai food. The host was polite and kind. The server got our drinks right away and answered questions while making recommendations. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The thai tea was one of the best I’ve ever had. The food came out timely and was delicious. All the flavors were on point. The portions were not as generous as I’ve had at others, but they were definitely enough. We will definitely recommend this place and be back soon.
