Not so easy to see. They have small sign. The Michelin Guide Star ⭐️ is the real attraction to why diners like this place. The food is delicious. Many reviewers here complain about the service here, especially during peak hours. However we did not experience any poor service. New York City prices so bring your Credit Cards . Definitely worth a try, especially if you’re Ramen fan. I liked that the pork was thinly sliced. We will definitely be going back.

The taste is fantastic, maybe the best ramen I’ve ever tasted, even better than those authentic ones I had in Tokyo Japan. Service very professional. My son tried to cancel one bowl of noodles as we wanted to try some other food in the menu, the request was carefully and thoroughly followed through. Other food we ordered tasted magnificent and price very reasonable too. Food didn’t take long to be served too. I told my son this is a must go restaurant whenever he has friends to bring to NY and he agreed.

Visited Tonchin on Sunday night. There was a waitlist and they told us about 45 minutes and we put our number down and proceeded to walk around the city. They texted us around 30 minutes that our table was up. The vibe of this ramen restaurant is dark, sexy, bar vibes. There are booths for bigger parties and plenty of 2 seater tables. We ordered the tebasaki wings, Tokyo classic ramen, and the spicy tan tan ramen. The tebasaki wings were so good! Lightly coated in a soy sauce glaze, perfectly fried, the bones had good flavor when you crunch into them as well—they are a must get! The Tokyo classic is a classic tonkatsu ramen, the broth was good but there was a lot of oil unsurprisingly, we didn’t finish the broth due to the thick layer of oil on top of the noodle soup. The spicy tan tan was delicious, nutty, not too spicy, the egg and meats were good. We ended our meal with a strawberry kakigori and OMG I enjoyed this just as much, if not more than my ramen!!! The ice was so smooth, not crunchy and hard like some other ones. The kakigori is layered so you get flavor and fresh fruit as you dig deeper into it. Also, there’s a salted whip creme on top that just pairs superbly with the strawberry shaved ice. This ramen restaurant is good, the vibes are great. You can come alone or with a small group. The kakigori and wings are amazing. It is good ramen for the price point of around $20 for it. Check it out!!

The best ramen that I’ve had in a very long time! The noodles are the perfect amount of bite, the broth is very rich and unctuous, and the pork is delicious. I love how thin the pork is so that the fat is evenly distributed in every bite. There were also thick chunks of bamboo shoots, which are usually not my favorite but the thick cut made for a really interesting texture.

Food was hit or miss, the mango dessert was great but ramen char Sui was very thin. Waitress was very helpful with menu recommendations and checking if food was good but was unlucky with server this evening as she had a finger in our ramen.

Lunch special for $24 considering the ramen and a side while not a steal is still good.

Just because I had high expectations for the ramen since they are Michelin star rated, I was disappointed by the main dish. It was just mainly broth and noodles, which don’t get me wrong was really tasty. I was just expecting more texture and additions to the soup.

We absolutely loved the food here. Stumbled upon this place by chance and had no idea that this was a ex-Michelin restaurant, not that it would have mattered. Anyway, loved the food, ambience and service. The Tokyo ramen and the shaved ice mango desert was really good. Will definitely visit again
