Everything was great in at Tom’s! The only thing I will say is the coffee cups need to be bigger and the refills need to be faster! The coffee and food was great!

An old neighborhood staple since 1975, and run by a local family, this was my go to when I lived in the neighborhood before it was Back in the early aughts late 90s the neighborhood still had that funky working class diy artist kinda vibe. I still go there with friends because it’s familiar like home and the menu never disappoints. It’s just the quintessential classic American diner joint.

Tom’s is like an old school diner with Tom’s Bar next door. Diner food with breakfast all day. We had the club, BLT, turkey Ruben, and Cobb salad. All portions are big and fresh. Fries were really good. The club was good but could have had a little more bacon. The turkey Ruben was a nice take on the traditional Ruben and tasty. The salad was big and had eggs, bacon, avocado, and lots of other goodies. Low key atmosphere and nice counter. A cool mural of Portland on the wall. Service was good and Valorie was very friendly. Definitely worth going back.

I love Tom’s! It’s so affordable and the food is so so good. I’ve had the Tom’s gyro, veggie gyro and hummus with pita bread. Seriously, is there anything better than fresh hummus and warm pita bread? I’ve also had two of their soups and were both delicious. It seems to be a popular place, lots of customers. The vibe is laid-back and relaxing, so it’s a great place to meet up with friends. The parking lot is pretty big, so parking isn’t an issue.

Tom’s is a sort of old timey diner with open tables and booths as well as seating at the counter. My friend had blueberry pancakes that looked great and he loved them. I had the party melt which is a comfort food all star for me. There weren’t many folks there but not surprising since we were there post lunch and just about an hour before closing. Still, the service was amazing, fast, friendly, helpful, everything you need and then some.

There was plenty of parking in the lot and even though it’s a fairly busy intersection, it was easy to get in and out.

In all the visit was a swift 40 minutes with a bill for two at just about $20 plus tip.

Food was very reasonably priced, tasty, and quick. I got a breakfast sandwich and I thought it was delicious.
I’ve been twice so far at this restaurant and both times have impressed me. Tom’s is a place content with staying in a by-gone simpler time and I appreciate that. No need to modernize and assimilate with the rest of the hyper modern places along that stretch of Division.

Food was decent, service was poor. My wife ordered an omelet and was charged an extra $5.00 for asking for a little gravy on top, which we weren’t informed of. I ordered a number 5 which was advertised for a cheaper price on the menu than what my receipt reflected. The waitress also forgot my chilled juice and upon refilling our coffees, didn’t care to bring or ask if we wanted additional creamers. It seemed as if we were second rate customers. I didn’t appreciate the overcharges, but didn’t mention it. Overall, I could’ve went to Denny’s and been just as satisfied for half the price.

Good food, great all ages dining area and a great bar. Definitely has that old diner feel. My favorite is the pool tables in the bar area. Always a good time on a Friday or Saturday night.

Alice helped exponentially with everything from food and beverage selection to recommendations around town. Felt like wonderland. An absolute blessing and unit if an employee. Made me realize that home is where you smile and feel welcome. It’s a state of being beyond 4 walls. And maybe my home has always been Tom’s restaurant
