Tom’s on Main is a must try if you are in Yazoo City or anywhere in the Delta!
It may be known as a unique sandwich shop but don’t sleep on the daily lunch specials.
Today (Friday) was spaghetti, choice of sides, a roll and banana pudding.
The spaghetti is good. Meaty and savory sauce and actual spaghetti noodles.
Lima beans are good.
The banana pudding is very good.
We tried that mound street sandwich on a sourdough roll. It had brisket, ham, bacon, lettuce and tomato. The bun was lightly toasted and the fixings were fresh. It came dressed with mayo.
The fries were crispy, golden goodness. Similar to Dairy Queen fries, if you are familiar with that.
They have a tangy, homemade comeback sauce.
The restaurant is clean and has a great vibe. Really neat location on Main Street in Yazoo City. Lots of shops and things to see in walking distance.

I freaking love this place upset it closes at 2pm but the best places close early. The waitress was super nice and the food was delicious. I would tell everyone to come here. Next time i am in Yazoo I will stop here. Oh and the prices super affordable for 2 people it was about $20. And asked about the tomatoes if they are home grown there aren’t but they buy from a local farmer. Can not recommend this place enough you have to try it for yourself.

This was my first visit to Tom’s but it was recommended by my little sister so I came in with high expectations. I was not disappointed! Their chef is amazing with some melt in your mouth pork, rice and gravy, macaroni and cheese, cornbread and greens. The banana pudding was too sweet for me but it did taste good. The lemonade was so good that even after the ice melted and I drove 12 hours to get back home, the sip that was still in my cup was great.
More importantly, the level of respect and concern for their customers was unbeatable. There was another customer who fell while we were dining. To see customers and staff rush to his aid was a reminder of everything that I love about being from Yazoo City!

I had the good fortune of stopping at Tom’s while driving through Yazoo City. It was full of happy customers. Service was fast, food arrived right away. Great quality at a very reasonable price.

We were taking photos of the colorful buildings on South Main Street and we saw Tom’s and decided to stay for lunch. We like to eat at local owner owned restaurants while traveling and we thoroughly enjoyed our food and the atmosphere at Tom’s. It has hih ceilings, interesting art and photographs on the walls and very good food. If you like home town food that you will eat with the local population then I can’t rate Tom’s highly enough.

The food is great and the service is fine, this is a great little spot in downtown Yazoo City with a great atmosphere. I got the hamburger steak, rice and gravy, Italian green beans, a roll and banana pudding. All that was one order, like a plate dinner. The only downside, if there is one, is it was about $14 after tip, so it is a little more expensive than a typical blue plate lunch is, but it was delicious. If you ever find yourself in Yazoo City between 12-2 on a weekday, check them out.

My wife and I were traveling thru and decided to give this place a look-see. We’re glad we did. The place was an amazing little restaurant nestled in the old Yazoo City district…very old and distinct buildings. The staff was attentive and kind. I had the shrimp poboy. It was delicious, and the shrimp was super big and crunchy. My wife had a chicken sandwich, and she said it was very tasty. I highly recommend this warming spot in a small town.
