This is one of those true old tyme diners not a fancy stylized diner like Ruby’s. The food is basic but well portioned and high quality. Coffee is excellent. Prices are reasonable for families or those on a budget. Service is excellent. It can be busy at mealtimes. The steak was tender. However the biscuits and gravy were oddly flavorless. Other items were excellent.

Food is good! We come for breakfast every weekend here. I feel like there is always an issue with the lady taking our order or serving us. I wouldn’t be surprised if she even has spit in our food. She is miserable working here, yet still plans on getting customers upset all the time. She speaks to her co-workers in spanish complaining about why there is so many people eating at the restaurant so early?! She always has something to argue about with me. I think her name is Gabriela, Hispanic older lady that has been there for a while now, usually mornings. Will try and get her exact name next time. It’s a bummer, because me and my son enjoy having Tom’s breakfast if it weren’t for that evil lady.

Rad Jacks… breakfast sands don’t taste old and dry. Coffee actually works, I have no idea why. People who work there are so kind and willing to help. My go to.

I had a bad experience at this location. I am giving this place in San Marcos a 2-star. The food was not bad, however, it was the management that did not make it a good experience. 1st there was no coffee and the manager did not want to make it for our party. Granted, five of us wanted coffee. We did not want that to ruin the day. We had to go to the gas station across the street, to purchase our coffee and bring them back to the restaurant. SO LAME, how much can you seriously spend on coffee? 2nd when the food came, the manager came to the table and said we are closing soon. We had not started eating. The manager came to our table a 3rd time and started removing our plates before we finished our food. Very disappointed in the service we received. I don’t recommend this location. We had breakfast, appetizer, and dinner.

Trash on floor. Took forever for someone to take our order. The fish crunchy, tasteless, fries tasteless, soda tasted like diet. Fish looked burnt. Their oil needs to get changed. Never will go there again.
