This was a good find! I happen to get over here during the week. The sushi chef “Ken” was entertaining very talkative and a great sushi chef. It was a nice relaxing evening the place wasn’t too crowded parking was easy and the mail for two of us was around $100. I will go back! They had a very nice variety of rolls. The albacore spicy sashimi was delicious.

Loved this place. The atmosphere was great, choices of a booth or the sushi bar, which both are nice and clean.

I made a mistake in submitting my review of Tomaya. The information below is for Yomato in Stevenson Ranch, CA. NOT for Tomaya in Woodland Hills, CA.

Excellent place for sushi – the individual pieces of eel, salmon, yellowtail, and tuna were great. The flavors are elevated and service was fast.

Expensive and small portions comparted to other sushi restaurants. They advertise a happy hour 5-6 and after 9:30 with a big sign, and if you check the happy hour menu on their web site, they have some good food and drink deals. When you get there and are seated, however, then you get a different happy hour menu, without the same deals, basically normal prices. Their non happy hour prices are pretty steep..$45 for a ten piece combo. This isn’t in some fancy neighborhood either, it’s next to an abandoned Fry’s Electronics and some gas stations. The sushi was good quality, however.

Unfortunately the reviews regarding service is accurate. My friends and I came in here yesterday early evening (Friday) and the wait staff just looked like they were unimpressed by our arrival. It wasn’t exceptionally busy. Food was good, fish was fresh and decorative. But management looked dishevled and bothered by our lack of knowledge, as if we should know what is in the rolls. They seemed tired with life. And it reflected on our experience. And once we got the bill and saw the total price, it was an expensive experience and felt wrong tipping an additional 20%.

One of my favorite sushi spots. It’s also the perfect half way for my friend and I to meet up. I have never had a bad experience here. Fish is fresh and delicious. Chefs know their stuff!

Delicious, fresh, well prepared sushi in all forms with very kind staff. Better than most of the best in Chicago. Try the riceless rolls and you won’t be disappointed. The one place – over several others – I will seek out the next time I am in LA!

Great food, super fresh fish. We lost our server about halfway thru our meal, she just stopped coming back and no one picked us up. Would have been 5 stars otherwise.
