I don’t come here too often because I would gain weight. The food is so good you make noises when you eat it….usually little soft moans and utterances like “oh my God, that’s good”. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Wide choice of meats, sides and desserts. Coffee is always on.

Many years ago, Mr. Tommy treated me like family, even remembered that we had stopped one rainy day while passing through just to get a menu. Then when we finally made it back (I’m from Michigan), he brought out some Sunday salad & cobbler as we sat at the table and talked for nearly an hour about random things in life. Sweetest man walking this earth I tell ya! If you could adopt a person as family, he’d be one I’d happily call my own. Food was 5 star delicious! Left there stuffed to the gills.

Wow!!! Blast from the past experience. My boys and I happened upon this gem and found far more than BBQ (which is great, no doubt). Some of the best Southern comfort food homestyle cooking I’ve ever had anywhere… Mac & cheese the way my Mom used to make, perfectly seasoned turnip greens, and the meringue pies were my favorites. The best part was the beautiful, joyful family who own and run the place and clearly put all their heart and soul into serving their tried and true recipes up cafeteria-style, making you feel like you just walked into your Grandma’s kitchen on Thanksgiving or Christmas after all your aunts and cousins brought over their specialty dishes. It’s a long trek from home for us, but we will definitely be back as often as we make it to this neck of the woods. I’ve been reminiscing a lot lately about Luby’s back in the good ole days before they banished the tea cart ladies and discarded the meringue pies of my childhood dreams…. this place is exactly what every town needs – it would heal the world!

First time eating at Tommy’s Bar B Que…it was absolutely delicious. I have no complaints except they told me they had the best meatloaf I would ever eat but my sister’s is the best…but they weren’t far behind!

Food was very delicious, restaurant is very clean and has a cozy feel to it. This is a family owned and operated restaurant and Tommy, his beautiful wife, and daughter all welcomed us warmly and stopped by at our table to see how we liked the food and we had a lovely conversation about their family and how they opened the restaurant and how much they love their community.
Highly recommend the fried chicken, brisket, and the sweet potatoes and beans for side. My kid liked the sausage the best.

My husband and myself stopped at this little gem on the way back home to Houston from Texarkana. Family owned restaurant with very friendly people. Food was amazing I had the 2 meat plate with sides. Delicious ate all of it. Had the homemade chocolate pie and almost got one to take home. We will definitely be stopping back by.

Wish we could give it ten stars for the fried catfish alone! The ribs were tender and fell off the bone. The cornbread fresh from the oven. Side dishes were just as tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. The decor was fun. Great service. Just wished we lived closer.

We had an amazing lunch on our way through town. The sausage was amazing (we can’t get this kind of food in Alabama); cabbage and black eyed peas were perfectly cooked and FRESH FROM THE OVEN peach cobbler!!!! We also had a delightful visit with the owner- definitely on our list for the next trip here.
