The service at Tomillo is lovely, but the food is good, not great. I went with my best friend and we shared the duck cachapas, a T-bone steak, the truffled asparagus, and for dessert the cortado de chocolate. The duck cachapas were ok, but we did find a piece of bone in them. They were incredibly apologetic and didn’t charge us for it. The steak was good, well-cooked, but not great, and the asparagus was very tasty. The dessert was a bit too sweet for my liking. I would still return and try more dishes, the ambiance is stylish and intimate.

Excellent customer service! I was sharing a plate of steak with my friends but I wanted well done instead of medium rare, and they offered to me to cook the pieces I was going to eat! Amazing I have never had such an accommodating and thoughtful service ever! The food was also very good! One of the best entraña I have eaten so far. Elegant and quiet atmosphere too. The portion sizes were quite big, enough to fill you up.

Food is fantastic and service is professional and relatively quick. Come here for the steaks, they are a classic. This is your “everyday” bistro done right. I highly recommend their chicharrones as an appetizer! Crunchy, fatty, and delicious.

This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we’ve had in a long time. It took over an hour to receive our food, the appetizer was FROZEN. Not cold, literally frozen. The appetizer was raw salmon and the pieces were crunchy and frozen together. Thankfully when this was served to us properly after having sent it back, the dish was actually very tasty.
The main course came after over an hour, cold, steaks not cooked properly (rare was overcooked, and medium was cooked rare), and the yuca mash was tasteless and cold. We sent the overcooked steak back, only to have them take 20 minutes to return it to us… and it was the same steak they had thrown back on the grill. So now it was doubly overcooked, and just slightly warmer. We sent it back a second time as the meat was now inedibly tough. The third round of this dish took over 30 minutes to be returned and it came back lukewarm and blue rare.
The best item we ordered was the water… at $6 USD per bottle.
Our experience was shockingly bad. We felt completely forgotten about next to the huge group at the table next to us. They seemed understaffed and dishes were not leaving the kitchen to be served at the right time. Will not try this place again, and absolutely would not recommend.

I was the sole diner seated in the entire dining room, while meanwhile dozens of other diners, including ones without reservations, were offered, and escorted to the vibrant, busy, patio dining area. But there was apparently “no space” for me to move to there. No idea why. The food was good, no more than that – an overcooked, rubbery lobster tail; a dessert that they’d changed components on from what was shown on the menu, and when I asked was told, “oh, they did that awhile ago, we just haven’t changed the menu” – and just wasn’t all that good. Given how highly recommended the place was, I was disappointed in the experience.
