Better than most similar Asian/Chinese buffets nearby.

Sushi rolls are freshly made and there is a good variety to try.

Most stir-fried dishes are pretty good like in an ordinary restaurant, especially the eggplants and bitter gourd fried eggs (苦瓜炒蛋).

Dim sum dishes are also pretty nice and expected.

I didn’t try much the raw seafood so cannot evaluate much on that.

Desserts can be improved. The egg tarts are really plain and not fluffy or crispy at all.

Overall nice place to try especially for sushi rolls.

Had lunch on a late Saturday afternoon (we arrived at around 1:30 pm) with a friend at Tomi Sushi. As a start, I am impressed with the huge selection of Asian cuisine available at this restaurant. The variety of seafood is also okay although I couldn’t find any raw oysters. Finally, I considered the dessert spread to be of A+ quality.

What is Tomi sushi was Todai seafood buffet in the 90s, and it’s good to see it is still operating after all these years.

Say what you will about buffets, but the food here is actually pretty decent.

Their cold items “island” is the most popular destination, well staffed and well stocked. Their sushi hand rolls are worth a repeat visit.

Behind the hand rolls is a lineup of small carpaccio bowls. Pick one or several, and they will grab it from the refrigerator. They’re quite good.

Other winners include the roast duck, roast pork, steamed oysters, mussels, fried prawns, and surprisingly, the won ton noodle soup. They have even have deep fried lobster on the weekends, but it’s just ok.

Go on a Friday or weekend to ensure they replenish items regularly as they get busier . On those days.

Parking is easy. Park near JC Penney and walk over.

Service is little gruff, but who goes to a buffet for great service ? Dirty dishes are picked up quickly

If you visit on or 3 days before or 3 days after your birthday, the meal is free.

Tomi has been on my list for a while now. SF barely has any buffets so you bet I was excited to make a trip down just to stuff my face with whatever I wanted to eat because calories don’t count when you’re in food paradise. 😉

Arrived around 11:30am on a Sunday and got seated right away. Maybe half of the restaurant was filled. By 12:00-12:30pm, the whole place was packed and a line started to form. The place didn’t look very big and didn’t look a whole lot of options. Brutally honest… I was quite disappointed by the quality of the food and selections. The crab was grainy and mushy.. the wonton noodles were dense and uncooked. The orange chicken was stale. The tempura had more batter than anything. The crawfish was a no. A lot of the stuff were cold. But what I did like was their duck (even though it was slightly undercooked), chow mein, tomato salad (LOL), eggplant, salt and pepper shrimp, and pineapple. Unfortunately by the time we got home, my bf’s stomach was hurting pretty badly. I really wanted to like this place but it was underwhelming.

Service was good. Nothing negative other than the fact that they gave us the check 20 minutes into our meal. They collected our empty plates pretty frequently which is nice. For $27.99/person, I guess you get what you paid for. I probably wouldn’t come back.

We went at around 5:40 on Saturday. No waiting time to get sit. Plenty of seafood choices, salmon, oysters, crabs, etc. For some food there is queue but it moves pretty fast. Taste not bad. However I had diarrhea right after the dinner, probably due to the fresh oysters as that the only food that my husband didn’t take.

We came to eat lunch buffet somewhat late. About 1.45pm on Sunday. Some dishes started to run out.
I enjoyed fish soup and hot and sour soup. It wasn’t excellent but all right.
Soft shell crab, crawfish and shrimps were good. So were sushi rolls.
Brazed beef soup was really enjoyable.
It is nice to come to buffets like this sometimes and try the varieties. You would enjoy if you are not very picky.

They have really good selections, food tastes good, service is fair, sitting space is a little bit squeezed. A very fine choice if you want to eat many varieties in just one place for dinner.

Food was fresh and actually pretty good. This is one the better buffets I’ve been to. I came here last week for the first time in 5 years. We came in for lunch and everything I had was good & fresh.

I would recommend this location. It also offers a small senior discount.

I visited this establishment with a group of ten colleagues for lunch. While the pricing is reasonable (approximately $30 per person), the overall experience was unsatisfactory.
Food Quality:
The food was average, with limited flavor. Given the price point, the value was not commensurate with the quality.
Service and Environment:
The primary concern was the environment. Multiple tables had loud guests, and staff were also speaking loudly, which disrupted the dining experience. The staff did not maintain order, and their interactions with guests were unprofessional. During table cleaning, staff created excessive noise near our table, further disrupting our meal.
Cleanliness:
The establishment did not meet expected cleanliness standards.
Conclusion:
Based on this visit, I cannot recommend this restaurant and do not plan to return.
