The original Tomatoes apizza has deck ovens on Halsted, I prefer that. The newer locations are coal fire. Definitely a Different style.

Barstool Pizza Review – Tomatoes APizza (Farmington Hills, MI)

That looked an easy 8 to be fair. Looked miles better than some of the mid 7’s you’ve been giving recently.

Tomatoes APizza is my FAVORITE Pizza place. I live in Florida and we have so many pizza options, however whenever I’m in Detroit visiting my friends I HAVE to come here for at least one lunch.

The pizza is fantastic (fresh and a very wide variety), the staff are all incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is very chill.

I cannot recommend this place enough!

I was invited here with a few friends to try the lunch buffet. They charge $13.99 for salad, pizza, and a drink. The pizza is a New Haven thin crust with a really flavorful sauce. They offer a variety of pizzas to try that keep coming out from 11am to 2pm. You can ask for a certain topping if you don’t see one you like and they’ll make it! The salad bar area is kept fresh and clean. They had many topping options to put over romaine lettuce. Everything is washed and cut just before serving. You can see it and taste it. I’ve been back a couple times since then and enjoyed it each visit. It’s one of the best pizzas I’ve had and pairs nicely with the salad bar. It’s definitely worth trying for the great price, service, and food.

I came to Tomatoes after a coworker told me about their lunch buffet, and at only $13.99, I had to check it out. I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed! The buffet had a nice variety, though the style of pizza doesn’t have a very long shelf life, so a couple slices were on the cooler side by the time I grabbed them. That being said, the salad bar was outstanding—fresh, crisp, and full of options. For dessert, the Nutella pizza was a sweet finish and definitely a highlight. Overall, it’s a great value for the price, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

This pizza was fantastic. Ordered a large pizza for pick-up on a Tuesday night and it was ready within 10 minutes. I tried it first when it was hot and it was fabulous!!! The pepperoni, sauce, and cheese were perfect. I love this style of pizza. Beyond that, the woman behind the counter was SO friendly!!! She even said she loves the pizza and rarely gets tired of it. The guys making the pizza were also very nice when I told them it was my first time trying it out. One of my top 3 pizza places in the Detroit area…. I’ll absolutely be back. Can’t wait to try more items!

Ordered a green pizza here with garlic per my brother’s recommendation. I typically like the Detroit Style deep-dish thick crust pizzas. But Omg!! This was light, fresh, deliciousness!! It was satisfying without the greasy heavy feeling after eating a regular pizza. I reside in S.Jersey now and pizza shops are on every corner. There was no comparison!

2nd visit: Some of the best pizza around. This is now my go to spot for pizza. It brings me joy. Half white and half pepperoni and sausage.
(Get in the car, it’s worth the drive;)

1st visit:
This is some of the best thin crust pizza in the area. Half white and half green with sausage and mushrooms. The coal fire adds that little bit of bottom burn and burn bubbles that are fantastic.

I had a great experience at Tomato Apizza. The pizza, cooked in a coal-fired oven, had a wonderful smoky flavor that made it stand out. It was fresh, unique, and delicious. The prices were fair for the quality of food, and the salad bar offered a nice variety of fresh options. Our waitress was friendly, accommodating, and really made our dinner enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great pizza and excellent service.

So, you know how you see reviews of restaurants that are 5 stars across the board and think the person rating it was exaggerating? More often than not, that is true, but not in this case! This restaurant was, without a doubt, some of the BEST artesian pizza I have had in a while! My companion and I went there on a whim, and I am so glad we did. The restaurant was quaint and cozy but had a great family feel to it on top of being really clean and inviting. The first thought that popped into my mind when i walked in was that i HAVE to bring my family back for pizza night! The staff was friendly, patient, and accommodating. They have a wonderful salad bar with top-notch veggies and condiments, and come on, who doesn’t love a great salad bar?! We opted for the Naples Sampler… WOW is all I can say. It really is a tour that I can’t wait to take again! Each piece was a delightful, delicate but robust sensation. We ordered the small which came with 8 pieces. 2-White ( fresh tomato, garlic, mozzarella cheese and basil), 2- Green (mozzarella, spinach and garlic), 2- fresh Mozzarella (mozzarella, red sauce and basil), and 2- classic (cheese, red sauce and a topping of your choice). We stuck to just cheese and red sauce, no extra topping. Topped it all off with a nice big and fresh salad! And all of that great food for just $25! YOU. CANT. BEAT. THAT! I could rave all day, but all I can really say is if you are in Farmington Hills, you MUST give Tomatoes APizza a try! You won’t be disappointed.
