Excellent bar food….we had the chicken parmesan sandwich with onion rings(there were 3 fries mozzarella sticks on the sandwich ) , southwest chicken 6″ sub (made like a philly with blackened chicken) , fries mushrooms, fried pickels and the bacon cheddar fries. Portions were large, price was decent. The service was great- I do believe our waitress was taking care of the floor by herself and she was a Rockstar. We would definitely eat there again to try something else on their vast menu! Highly recommend

Nice updated bar with seating for dining in. Reasonable pricing. Ordered a burger and curley fries, which were ok – nothing great but not bad either. Reasonable prices. 2 pool tables inside.

Came from out of town, seems like a very local place. Food was great, had the pizza potato which is smashed whole potatoes with pizza toppings on top, surprisingly good. Prices were actually reasonable compared to chain restaurants. The only downfall was the slow service to get the bill and then wait for my card back afterwards, a solid 20 minutes after our plates were taken away.

There’s a review from Devin Smith just before mine from 3 weeks ago with the same comments about the service and having to ask multiple servers when needing something.

First time visit, and I asked our server what was recommended. Immediate response, “our potatoes!” And they are listed front and center in the menu as soon as you open it up. I didn’t think we could go wrong. To say I was underwhelmed is pretty accurate. I ordered the buffalo chicken potato. If I hadn’t added the banana pepper rings and requested blue cheese dressing on the side, I would’ve been even more disappointed. The cheese was only browned on the outer edge. And the chicken seemed to be the pre-cooked breast strips you frequently see on salad bars. I would’ve preferred a breaded chicken that would’ve added crunch and held onto the sauce better. As it was, the sauce was rather diluted throughout the whole potato.

In addition to a first time at the restaurant , it was also my first trip to Markle, Indiana. It is a halfway point to meet family who have recently moved to North Manchester. So it is likely we will be back. There are other things on the menu I would be willing to try. Especially the Double topping loaded pizza. We would have ordered that except it takes a 45 minute lead time. We didn’t have that to spare on our first visit, but we can plan around that, and give The Pickle another try.

Interstesting place in Markle that was referred to us by locals. I had a nice hot Italian sub and beer. I noticed a large selection of stuffed bake potatoes on the menu.

Phenomenal pizza! Very generous toppings, cooked perfectly, and a great price! Tried the taco potato and would definitely order again, plus try other ones. Breadsticks were flavorful and soft, and the munchie appetizers were all very good! Service was great, was super easy to pay and be on my way. All the dips, etc were in the bags and everything was perfect! Great place and worth the drive!

We are usually only in this area for the Antique Shop. But a local told us to give this place a try so we did. We were not expecting much but we could not have been more wrong. Walking in, the first thing we noticed was it is very clean in here. And the staff are very welcoming. I ordered blackened salmon and my wife ordered cod. Both dishes were absolutely wonderful. Few places actually surprise me but this one definitely did. So much, that from now on when we come through Markle we will be stopping in here at the pickle as well. Great job!!!

First time at The Pickle. Walked in and sat ourselves. Our server got us our drinks and orders, but then afterwards it was harder to get a server to come to our table to check up on us.
They were very polite when they did, but when we actually needed something at times it was very hard to get to them.
The food was good, it took a while to come out- the meal was hot though which was worth the wait.
We wanted boxes for the rest of our meals to take home and it took 15-20 mins after asking 3 separate servers for them to finally get them.
And after we got our bill we weren’t even given a pen to fill out our check and leave a tip.
All in all. It’s a nice local bar. I was let down slightly by the service overall.
It seems that they cater more towards the locals than if you come from out of town to try out their restaurant.

I used to live upstairs and one building over from the pickle but had never eaten there. The food was great! We plan to go again to try different food. The music was good, not too loud, we could still talk. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the Mac pizza. Both were delicious.

Sunday, I rode down to the pickle for their special, the loaded nachos. It had a nice crispy layered chips with ground beef and then the cheese was melted before adding any of the cold veggies. The jalapenos were fresh cut and definitely on the spicy side. Lucky for me, between the sour cream and the $3 half pitcher special, I was able to brave my way through the whole plate.
I know people go nuts for the potatoes here, so I made sure to add a good close picture of that part of the menu.
