one of the best meals i’ve had in my month in the city, the miso glazed black cod was one of those tastes you can only get in a fine-dining restaurant. exquisite. the service was the best i’ve seen, i drink an extreme amount of water and my glass was kept full. they must have refilled it at least 15 times. the pop rocks chocolate cake was uniquely divine. i will be back!

My daughter and I made it a point to go to Toloache for dinner after a visit to the Met. We’ve been there several times and our latest meal did not disappoint. We decided to go strain for the main course and share three. The CALLO DE HACHA (Sea scallops, pumpkin-black truffle creamy rice, Poblano rajas, pepitas, brown butter) must have been a fairly recent addition to the menu (at least for us). The scallops were great, with the truly creamy rice that was satisfying. Our go to dish, the BACALAO TRUFADO (Miso-tequila glazed black cod, hon shimeji, mushrooms, corn, chipotle-black truffle butter) was on the menu and was delicious as always. Third dish, CARNITAS DE PATO (Braised duck carnitas, tamarind-habanero glazed, chicharrón, sweet onion salad, tortillas for tacos) was rather dry. The meat needed some sauce to make it juicier, but the taste was good. We finished our meal with a great Flan and Mexican coffee.

Really good Mexican food! We had the frutas guacamole, carne asada tacos, lobster tacos, and the ceviche special. The guacamole was SO good. We also had their espresso chocolate cake with dulche de leche ice cream— that was FANTASTIC! We started eating and I had to stop to take a pic! New neighborhood spot for sure.

The atmosphere and service were great at this restaurant. The tacos, guac, and cerviche were good, although serving size could be better. Overall, would recommend!

As a neighbor of Toloache for the past two years, I have had the pleasure of experiencing this wonderful restaurant time and time again. And now that I’m moving away, I can honestly say that I will miss it dearly.

The food was great! Delicious fresh guac, smokey beans, perfect fish tacos. The grapefruit margaritas were to die for. The interior could use an upgrade, but nothing too disturbing. Service was quick and waitstaff very attentive.

Plenty of vegetarian options available with some unique twists. Plan to spend 30-50 per person if you want to try out the variety in a family-style.

I almost don’t want to write this review because I’m worried it’ll make this place too crowded! The food was absolutely spectacular, the duck tacos were mouth watering! The service was great and our waitress was able to give us some wonderful recommendations based on what we said we liked. Just wished there was a bit more space in between the tables, I kept getting elbowed by my neighbour.
