We shared the DIY Pork Bao and Karaage Chicken for starters and it was more than enough for two. We still had chicken left over when our mains arrived. Staff were mindful of my partners LG Bao option and separated the two. For mains we enjoyed the Smoked Duck Breast and Rainbow Rice Bowls. Duck was super tender and the broth was tasty. The Rainbow Rice Bowl went down a treat as well. $13.50 for a schooner of Stomping Ground felt steep, so did $15 for a Passion Fruit and Vanilla Soda which lacked flavour. Overall we enjoyed the food and the service was good but felt it was slightly overpriced.

my 8th time dining in Tokyo Tina! always hits the spot eventho its not my first time. i would recommend their Crispy Eggplant.. literally to die for and followed by their Rainbow Ricebowl and Prawn Katsu, 2 dishes that i always order. Their sauce for the ricebowl sashimis is sososo good ‍ . Their Prawn Katsu always bomb and very juicy in my mouth.. please order all of these.. Restaurant ambience itself is very cozy~ honorable mention to all Tokyo Tina staff that always makes my dining experience special❤️

I honestly can’t even count how many times I’ve been here. Definitely my top restaurant in Melbie ❤️❤️ I come at least 1–2 times a month and always recommend it to friends.

My absolute faves are the prawn katsu and the rainbowl bowl. The prawn katsu takes me back to eating shrimp burgers in Japan, but here they use yuzu mayo – so refreshing!!! The rainbowl (if I’m not mistaken) is a mix of kingfish, tuna, and salmon with a yuzu ponzu dressing. Super fresh and so YUM!!

Lately, I’ve been loving their chocolate fondant with miso caramel ice cream. It’s such a simple dessert, but it brings back childhood memories for me.

Every dish I’ve ordered here feels nostalgic in some way, and I’m so glad Tokyo Tina always delivers that experience.

Absolutely exquisite food. We got the kingfish sashimi, crispy eggplant and miso baked cauliflower. The sashimi was very nice, but the eggplant and baked cauliflower were exceptional!! HIGHLY recommend these two dishes, and would definitely come back for them both

I recently went to Tokyo Tina for my friend’s hens party, and it was such an incredible experience. We were in the private dining room which was perfect for the occasion and created a really fun, intimate atmosphere for the celebration.

The food was absolutely amazing — the eggplant dish was to die for and honestly one of the highlights of the night. Everything we tried was full of flavour and beautifully presented.

A special shout-out to the lovely waitress with blonde hair who looked after us (I’m so sorry I forgot her name!). She was so warm, attentive, and made the whole experience even better.

Highly recommend Tokyo Tina for a special occasion or a great night out. I’ll definitely be back!

The service here was friendly and patient.
All of the dishes were excellent however the duck udon lacked the rich flavour profile that the other dishes presented.
The passion fruit margarita was not great for the price.
I would highly recommend the rainbow rice bowl as it was fresh and delicious!
The duck bao had plenty of meat and was filling.

I had booked out the private dining room for my partner’s surprise birthday party and my expectations were blown away. The place was a lovely vintage vibe with cozy ambient lighting to set an intimate mood. The staff were amazing with communication and constantly checked in on us for drink refills and to make sure everything was going according to plan. The food was on a whole other level, the lamb shoulder was to die for as it fell right off the bone, but my personal favs had to be the eggplant and corn fritters, I would eat those on my death bed. We got the et menu as that was option that came with the room, originally I was a bit iffy with how big the portions were but safe to say we were all stuffed by the end of the night. For $79 per person, the variety, quality and quantity is unbeatable. Meg was so lovely with liaising the logistics for the party and she was so understanding and accommodating of our situation, big shout out to her as the night wouldn’t have went as smoothly if not for her prompt responses and kind nature. The karaoke set was a bit out dated but it had all the classic songs so honestly it was still such a vibe. I can’t thank the staff enough for being so friendly and welcoming to my party. I would highly highly HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone as the service was wonderful and the food and vibes were amazing!!! (p.s. there were more dishes but I was too focused on eating that I forgot to capture them all 😀 )

Had dinner here a few days before leaving because we were both craving japanese food. We had booked for three for 7:45 and enjoyed our food. Very tender chicken teriyaki, tasty duck broth etc. It’s a nice looking place, very clean and modern. The young girl who took care of us was very polite and attentive.
Although I need to take a few stars out because of how we felt rushed to… Leave?
30 minutes after sitting down we were told the kitchen was closing… At 8:30? At 9 we were told the bar was also closing soon. And then while we were talking around 9:15 we could really feel that everyone was fiddling around waiting for us to leave. Another waitress/member of the staff finally, without us asking, brought us the check and almost slammed it on the table at around 9:20… It was a little bizarre, especially for a restaurant located in such a busy location. Why taking reservations for 7:45 if you’re going to push people out the door 1h30 later? I’m not expecting Spanish time in hospitality but not retirement home time either.
So I guess come at 6 to enjoy fantastic Japanese dishes but not later.
