Excited to try this new place, so Tuesday night we visited and we were very impressed with the renovation! Restaurant looks beautiful. We were seated in the back of the restaurant by the fireplace, which will be nice in the winter I’m sure. Restaurant has a lot of potential but needs some improvement on service and food accuracy.. had the crispy rice and spicy tuna appetizer. It was extremely crispy…almost caramelized, much easier to eat hot than cold. We ordered three sushi rolls and it took a lot longer than usual time needed. I think the manager or the sushi chef came to talk to us to fix our order. Super nice, he was very polite and understanding. Service was very slow I did not get my soup until after I received my poke bowl. Would like to have a little more flavor on the rolls. One of the rolls was the volcano roll and it was sweet …was unusual for my past experiences of the volcano roll, which if I’m not mistaken should be more on the spicy side. I had the poke bowl, Which seemed a little bit smaller than the picture but it was portioned enough that I left satisfied. Will probably go back once the restaurant is established a little longer and their serving flow has been achieved.

This place is AMAZING!!! DO NOT pay attention to any of the bad reviews. Those people must have “issues”. We are new to this area of TN. however we have lived in TN since 2008. From our very first time there, we knew it would be our “go to”. Every single employee is super friendly and the sushi is BEYOND fantastic! My husband and I have sat at the sushi bar both times we have been there (and we always will, since watching the sushi chefs make sushi is a true art). These guys truly make you feel like family and it’s fun to meet other people also dining at the sushi bar. The food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant is also super clean! We can’t wait to go back!

This was an incredible meal! The whole family had a blast, the chef was fun and great with the kids, very professional and humorous. The food was outstanding. Sushi is my favorite food and I have been longing for a good sushi restaurant in north Knoxville for my entire life. The sushi was not good – IT WAS AMAZING! The best sushi I have ever had and that is saying a lot coming from me. I got the Miami roll and the zen special roll and both were fantastic. Fair prices and large portions. My mom got the chicken hibachi with noodles and she raved about it. I will definitely be back soon to check out the sushi lunch specials. Thank you Tokyo for bringing a gem to our community!

This was my second visit to Tokyo Sushi and Steakhouse in Powell, and it somehow managed to be even better than the first. The sushi here is truly some of the best in Knoxville, incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I’ve tried many spots in the area, and honestly, Nama doesn’t even come close. The owner, Nick, surprised us with a special dish and it was absolutely spectacular. The staff is welcoming, the atmosphere is great, and the food is so good! I’ll definitely be coming back soon and often!

Nicely renovated. Sushi was great. Service was ok. The tables were ridiculously high. Crazy to have to pay extra for fried rice instead of steamed at a Hibachi table. The soup and salad were very small and scallops were not very fresh. Rice, veggies, and other meats were good
