Tokyo Sushi was first opened in 1987 as one of the first Japanese restaurants in Staten Island, NY. The current owners, Mr. & Mrs. Kim, have been running the restaurant since 2003 and now offer specialty Korean dishes on the menu, notably cooked on a hot pot stone.
Casual shopping-center sushi bar also serving Japanese entrees & some Korean dishes.

Came in for a solo dinner and it was absolutely perfect.
The kimchi pancake… oh my god. AMAZING. Crispy, flavorful, just everything you want. And the gopchang jjigae was sooo tasty — the broth was incredibly rich and comforting. Definitely no leftovers

We were looking for Korean food and a karaoke spot in Staten Island, and we’re really glad we ended up here. I ordered the spicy pork bokum and it was fantastic, fresh, sizzling, it felt like the real thing. The rest of my group had beef, chicken, some sushi and a large seafood pot, and everyone was genuinely happy with their meals.
The staff (Maria!!) couldn’t have been kinder. She was patient with all our questions and made the birthday girl feel appreciated in a very real, thoughtful way. It wasn’t loud or chaotic inside, just warm, cozy, and comfortable, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal.
I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore Korean dishes without feeling intimidated. They’ll help you figure out what to order and make you feel at home. The karaoke room was a highlight.. big, private, and with its own bar. There were only five of us, and it still felt like a celebration. We’ll absolutely be back.

I have been coming here my whole life, quality, people, and decor have never changed and I love it. This is the only sushi place I go to on SI and I don’t regret it for a second. Same guy behind the bar for as long as I can remember. I usually only get their sushi and have tried a few appetizers but they never disappoint!

When you order the sushi combo, you might want to specify whether you would prefer more rolls or more sashimi. Tokyo Sushi also offers a range of other Japanese dishes, including ramen and udon. i came to this restaurant to have my lunch today. It wasn’t busy today. Place is very clean. Girl who serve the was very kind and nice to me. Hospitality was very good. One of my most favorite restaurants on the island. I’ve been coming here for years, ever since I was in grade school up the block. The vegetable dressing is amazing, I could honestly drink it. And the bibimbop was my first ever experience in the dish and I’ve loved it since. The service is great and it’s pretty spacious in there with good seating. A nice little gem in SI.
